Wild Round Tomorrow

Tomorrow me and all 4 of my boys are playing a round of golf. This should be a hoot. We've never all 5 played togehter at the same time so this will be a 1st. I'm looking forward to this round of golf more than any I can remember. I'll post all the hilarious details afterwards. 2 of my boys just took the game up so there should be plenty of funny moments.

Well, I survived the Father-Son golf outing, barely. Ground rules were set up in advance, the main one being that they were going to spend the night afterwards. With the removal of a potential DUI there was massive quantities of beer consumed. I know, I'm a terrible dad, but they are all over 22. We had a BLAST, we played 27 holes and actually played some pretty good golf. The oldest came out on the winning side and actually played one of the 9 holes at only 6 over par. I came in 2nd place and was striking the ball good till the final 9 when the beer and heat kicked in. Unfortunately my pulled muscle reared it's ugly head again when we had an impromptu long drive competition and I tried to swing out of my shoes. I hit the longest drive BTW, thank you XL-Matrix combo. But by the end of the outing I could barely swing a club, I guess I'm going to have to get this thing looked into? But all in all a good time was had by all, afterwards we went down to the hot tub and swimming pool, then came home and watched movies till the wee hours of the morning, laughing and reminiscing. You can't beat golf for bringing Dads and Sons together! Hunting or fishing are great, but I'd rather play golf with my boys any day.

I know you're too young to start thinking too much about it (you and I are the same age,) but I can say that days like you just had will be among your boys' fondest memories of you. I know when I play with my Dad, I remind myself how precious each day is, and playing golf is the best thing we do together.

I hope you're right Eracer, I remember the time me and my Dad played together fondly. I'm still not giving up on getting him back out on the course. He says he is too old now and that he wasn't that good when he could get around better. I keep telling him it doesn't matter, that it would be time we could spend together. I hope to at least get him to ride along with me if nothing else.

My Dad still beats me. He's 71 and shot a 78 not too long ago (although he usually shoots right around 90.) He shot 100 on his course from the back tees rated 74.1/144 at 7013 yards. He didn't think that was very good. I told him I was damned impressed.

Ask MCDavis what that course might be like from the back tees.

Heck, I'm impressed without even knowing anything about the course. That's great, especially at 71 years of age. I played the Nicklaus course at Bay Point in Panama City, Fl from the whites and shot a 100.

that's really cool dubbya! I wish my dad could get out there with me, but he's got a bad back and just had surgery on his knees =\ maybe i'll just suggest that he does what you said and can get him to at least ride along with me. glad you had a good time

I just got married in May and we had a golf outing the day before with all of the men out at once. Two foursomes. I was in a group with my dad, my father-in-law, and my grandfather-in-law. I wouldn't have traded those four hours for the world. I love playing golf with my dad, and I can't wait till I have kids of my own to get them out on the course. I was just wondering... Do you think three weeks is too young for their first club?

Naw, my 4 year old granddaughter has a set of clubs I bought her for her birthday.

It was a hoot, trust me. However, in the future I have to remember that 96º weather, 85% humidity, and massive quantities of cold beer will not keep you hydrated. I feel washed out today, the oldest wants to play again this afternoon. I made HIM a tee time, I however, will not be playing today.

I'll keep you in mind VT, but I wouldn't hold your breath waiting. I don't see the XL/Matrix going anywhere.

BBgolf on eBay has the Matrix Ozik Code's on sale for $220.00 right now though if your interested.

It would be a tough, long day!
