Anger Issue

Im pretty young, so i still have a macenroe temper, and my group of 4(including me) were playing the local 9 hole par 3 when i sliced the ball into the woods with my 5 iron. i took my 5 iron and slammed it against my bag. i happened to slam my iron against the shaft of my old cougar driver, snapping it in two. something ill never forget. now i am aware of club breakage and rarely get angry anymore. yay.

I tell my club "It's not your fault" then punch myself in the face.

It's always the clubs fault, I threaten to replace the offending club if it doesn't straighten up. My clubs have seen enough of their friends disappear to know I mean it too,

Yep, quicker you learn that the more fun you'll have. I used to get pissed. I broke my 9iron throwing it down a fairway. Now I just don't care. I'm on a golf course for God's sake. It doesn't get better than that.

I'm like Tin Cup now, "gimme another ball."

I used to have quite them tmper as well. The past few years though I have been able to find humour in my ridiculously bad play. As a result I have had much more fun on the course.

I throw a wedge every now and then. Those are the only shots I feel I'm good enough at to get pissed when I totally hack one. I sometimes might pound my driver if I really yank one left.

Its funny, I actually cheer every time I get in the fairway

When you know you're bad ANYTHING else than a "pond shot" is worth a smile ...

I don't curse, actually. I do drop the club from time to time, never throw it though. Funny enough, I read in a recent Golf Magazine dropping the club can be a good thing, for competition, let it be the clubs fault if its your confidence at stake.

Now a days though? Not quite the hothead I used to be.

Say it isn't so! That is so disrespectful to the game of golf. You should keep your mouth shut and smile everytime you hit a bad shot. Where are your morals and values?! Oh, PS- You can't spit, curse or fart on the course either.

Oh, two more words: Michelle Wie.

I do the same thing. My tee shot will be close, but generally I'll miss by inches.

And the pond shot is only worth a smile if you pull a tiger woods and hit the pond and the ball bounces and crosses the pond safely.

Well played King.

And I agree, I do put emotion into my game. Desire. Its part of why I continue to play, why I try to win, and why I'm angry when I don't do things correctly.

Haha, it was a joke. There was a thread about Tiger swearing and what not a few weeks ago and it turned into morals, values and respect.

And Michelle Wie..that's just for good measure.
