I'm with you here. I absolutely love mine, except mine has seen action up to 130 yards.

Only way I hit my 60* 130 yards is when I scull it......... downhill........... downwind. But anyway. I just recently took my 60* out of the bag (some of you may know it as Untrusty Rusty.) and I've never played better. Sure I can't hit my 56* 50 yards in the air, but is it necessary if I can put adequate spin on it? When I'm good enough to catch a 60* cleanly and consistently every time, I'll put it back. Until then, I'm good with 13 clubs.

I love my Hogan Carnoustie 60°. With 10° of bounce, it's even easier to hit out of the sand than it's predecessor, the Apex with 6° bounce.

Longer than 50 yards though, I go with the 52°

Yup, mine too.... I'm a much better golfer without it.

I'm curious as to how the hell you guys are hitting flops with a sand wedge, being that they have double-digit bounce angles. You need to slide under the ball for a flop, so how do you guys manage it when you can't even get within half a centimeter of the ground on a tight lie?

Or was it just me, with my 3* of bounce, that was hitting flops from tight lies?

All that being said, I love the 60* wedge. I use my 51 pretty frequently for full swings, but I virtually NEVER chip with it. It's basically like an 11 iron for me (PW being 10, since I never chip with that, period). I'll use the SW if I have a very fluffy lie, but everything else is lob. It's virtually impossible to slide or hook the LW, since it produces SO MUCH backspin. You CAN pull or push them (I promise), but I'm with Lyle. If you can make clean contact with a 56, you can hit a 60. Stop psyching yourself out!

Also; the more loft you can use, the less you have to rely on backspin to hit the shot you want. Higher trajectory = faster stops
I don't even attempt to hit a flop from a tight lie. I didn't when I carried a 60 and I certainly don't with my 56 CG11. I don't see a need for the 60 and I don't have room in the bag for it anyway.

The 60 is the best club ever! lol
For a long hitter like me, it the only option for everything under 80yds.

I'll take the SW. I'm not all that long. I needed a 13* 3wood to drive that 325yd. par 4 last week.

I'm another 60* fan. My ball landed in the moss under a low-hanging pine the other evening, with a really high berm between me and the elevated green 20 feet in front of me. I just channeled my fellow lefty and nailed it. Even if I could have made the shot with my 56*, I wouldn't have believed it. That's the difference. Use the club you know will work.

Taking a very very steep swing, My dad who was caddying for me couldn't believe it when he saw me do that. Was about 128 to an elevated green and I asked for the 60*, he nearly crapped his pants. Again, I'm taking a steep swing which is delofting the club.

But then why not just use the club for which that loft is normal instead of delofting the LW?

The delofting is part of the swing, which was what suited my situation the best.
