60* Wedge

Here I will damn this tool of the devil. I can hit a GD 3i out of the rough from 218yds. off a ball above feet lie to 8inches from the stick but I can't hit this GD thing from 98yds. onto a 900sq. ft. green. off a perfect lie. I really, really almost chucked it into the woods last round. I could be wrong but I do believe I've not broken 90 while this thing was in my bag. I took it out and shot 82,87,89. Then put it back in and 94,90 the last two. I think it gave gonarrhea to my Ping putter as well. I'm going to pull the shaft out of it I think so I won't be tempted to put it back in without some serious thought.

Buy a 58* (or bend that 60*) and take note of what a difference 2* can make.

However, I have a 60* and can hit it fine but I never try to hit it over 85 yards unless there is some serious wind in my back. You would be better off to hit a "baby" SW 100 yards than trying to bomb a LW. You can't swing hard with those things.

Funny thing because I feel cursed in the same way. Every single time I bring the 58 or 60 with me, I can't play for shit. Leave em at home & everything is fine. Getting to feel that way about the hybrids too, getting ready to unload these newest ones & just stick with the fairway woods since they seem to actually like my swing.

It's not just the full yardages, it's the chips and pitches. I had a holeable chip for birdie and made a bogey on 17 yesterday, that's where I almost threw it in the woods. It's costing me a lot more strokes than it's saving... in fact I don't think it's ever saved any. There really is no use for the thing in my game.

Same thing here. I had a 58* and it was better but it was always short. Don't ask me why I decided to start using a 60. As to hybrids, I tried a lot to take the place of a 3iron, never really even tried a 3i. Then I decided to get a 3i... "why the F did I ever use a hybrid" was the only thought. The 3i is as easy to hit as a 7iron for me and whole lot more accurate than any hybrid I've tried.

You have to really practice to hit decent chips with it. Most people chip with trying to use way too much loft. Also, if the club is causing you this much grief, throw it in the woods and be done with it.

I'll have to return it to Twofast. I'm convinced he gave it to me just to screw up my short game.

You need to know when to use it if your not comfortable with it.

Last time I played, I got suckered into going for a par 4 in one. It was only 257, mostly carry. I wussed out and blew it way right. About 25 yards, over a bunker, green sloping away from me with a creek behind it. Opened the blade, hit it perfect, carried to the top of the hill and down to 4 feet. I couldn't have hit that shot without a 60. Some people might have been able to, but not me. I need the extra loft on shorter shots.

I'm one of those guys who wants to "have a club for every shot"..

I have a 52 56 and 60.. Hell, I have 9 wedges I need to sell if that tells you anything.

I have these new wedges from SilverUberXeno, and the 52 is bent to 51, and I use it for everything.. Use the 56 outta the sand, and I tried the 60 for a flop shot the other day that went about 10 feet from where it was.. I almost put it in the water.

I just force myself to use my PW more for chips, and my 51 for those shots I can wail on it and not send it sailing.. My 60 I need to work on. It's a devil club.

King Par is an unknown quantity at this point
I usually only use the 60* for half or 3/4 shots. Going full swing usually doesn't result in good shots. Just play for a little extra roll, and hit your 55* where you'd hit the 60.

I've never hit a shot that I couldn't have used the SW for with it. Even a few very shortsided shots, I left them too short where the SW would have had a chance to go in or at least leave and uphill putt. I can flop the SW, I don't even feel comfortable flopping the 60*, afraid I'll skull it or hit it fat. Besides, I hit the greatest shortsided flop in the history of golf with the SW like a month ago. 60yds. away in the wrong fairway, over a 4story tree to 8ft. and holed the putt for par. Didn't even think it was a physical possibility to hit any club that high, that fast.

There you go. You obviously don't need the loft to produce the shots you need. Grind it into little pieces, then give it back to 2fast.

I carry a 58 but it mainly gets used as a tool around the green... I very rarely hit full shots with it for reasons you have already listed

Wow this is funny bc I feel the total opposite about my cheap ol 60*.

I use it for everything inside 90 yrds and control it great. I use it for chipping and found it to be easier(for me atleast) to put it close on chips and everything.

Now my 56* on the other hand

My 60* lives in the garage. It took up permanent residence there about 3 years ago.

I'm pretty much deadly with my 60º. I can float it in and land it soft from as far out as 90 yards with no problem with a full swing.

Different strokes was never exemplified better.
