I have skipped many a golf ball off the water, not one so far has managed to get back out however!!

You see the pros actually doing it on purpose some times. I know at the Masters par-3 challenge the odd player will do a skip shot. And of course there was that commercial for the PGA where I think its Fred Funk who skips a ball accross a pond and into the hole. So it can be done!!

This afternoon, another woman in my foursome skipped her ball across the water at the far end of the pond, onto the grass. It bounced right back in the water. It was funny, but she didn't think so.

Good Lord. Might I suggest that some of you fellows move south? I played on January 2nd this year. I wore shorts. If I recall correctly it was around 70°.

I think I've mentioned this on here before. But I skipped a fish burner across the lake on a par 5. I went from mad that I'd hit it into the water, to elation as it skipped about 6 times across the lake, then back to anger when it hit a turtle sunning himself on the bank and bounced back into the lake.

But looking back, it was hilarious, my son literally fell down laughing.

I don't have to skip them. I just aim for the water turtles. Ball will bounce off them just like it has hit the cart path.

Which gives a much better feeling than hitting anywhere in that big ole fairway.
