Buying Wedges Soon help with decision

Ok i currently have the purespin wedges, and have gotten fit for the right lie, length etc. at my local pro shop i bought my other clubs from. I have however spent some change on what i have so far and was considering going cheap on the wedges for now. I have been looking at the interloper 690 wedges ....they are supposed to be just like the cleveland 900 series(a set i have played with and liked). they are 99$ for 4 wedge set.

they are on interlopers site, and look to be good quality......i was gonna put a link but site rules won't let me til i have >15 posts.

I really like the finish on them as well....the gun metal look.

Otherwise it will be a couple months of bad shots with the purespins (as they are too long etc. and i don't want to put any more cash in them) until i pick up a set of the actual CG12 wedges.

these are the only style i have played with so if there are others that are just as good or close to as good as the cleveland in the same price range or cheaper please educate me.

If you can afford some Vokey SM wedges you'll have the best there is for the money IMHO. New or used.

I agree. I've got 20 wedges sitting in my closet, including the very fine Srixon WG-504, and none of them beat the Vokeys that are in my bag right now.

IMHO, you are better off buying used, than buying cheap.

Also, be creative, I hit a 56 degree that I had bent to a 58, and I really like it, and have used it for a year now. It keeps me using the same club more, because I found the 60 was getting used all the time, but the 56 wasn't getting used as much, but the 60 didn't give me the distance.

Anyway, that is my two cents, it saves you a club in the bag, and allows you to get more comfortable with that club.

I talked to a friend at work that actually has a set of vokeys.....I'm playing this wekend prolly fri and sunday. He said i am welcome to take them and try them out. I am gonna do that and see how i like them fit, finish, and feel wise......

If i don't prefer them over the clevelands i have made up my mind to just get the clevelands{probably the cg12 gun metal(mostly b/c of looks)}

Wedges are almost as personal as putters... and almost as important. You'll have a lot fewer putts per round if you can put the ball closer to the hole with the wedges.

Wedges need tailored to your game and your course. The bounce angles available are plentiful and substantially different in how the club plays. Balance/feel in wedges is important.

As someone else stated, go used to get something that fits your game... do not go cheap!!!
