That, in a nutshell, is why I bought a Skycaddie GPS. I've played way too many courses where there were either no (or very few) markers, the markers were very wrong or you have a lot of blind shots and no yardage numbers to work with.
The course I play now I still use the GPS even though the carts have them because there are a lot of blind shots to landing areas and hazards that will get you into a lot of trouble if you are wrong by too much.
I feel for ya though... it really sucks to address the ball, confident that you have the right club then hit a perfect shot and watch your ball fly into the woods, pond, parking lot (I've done that! :laugh
, etc. because of bad yardages.
