79... with a 10?

Work is a little slow right now, at least it gives me some time to hit the links a little more. Anyway, I was going along nicely today. I figure something out on the range, and I was +1 through 13. After a messy 3 putt bogey from about 20 feet on 14, I faced the easy par 5 15th. Dogleg right, and only about 480 up the hill. All the sudden, I forgot how to swing a golf club. It was crazy. I hit an OK drive, but only about 230. I tried to turn my second around the trees, only to hit it straight at them! Luckily, the shot flies straight through the branches, leaving me about 160 in. Then it happens, shank, shank, duff into a bunker. 3 to get out of the bunker, and 2 putts nets me a 10 on one of the easiest holes on the hole course. Whaaaaaaaaaa?!?


I played the last 3 at +1 to still break 80, but wow. Good grief. I was trying to play one shot at a time, focusing on the shot at hand and not score or the upcoming holes. It really worked, but what a blow-up hole.

A 79 with a 10? Wow. Other then that one hole you were ON!!

A 10 would always put me over 50..... always. :(

You know, I could get over that 10 in a hurry if it all tallied up to a 79. Well done clearing that hole out of your head and finishing up strong. It would've been very easy to let that hole ruin your round and come limping in with an 85 or so.

Yep, I had one of those yesterday too. Par 5, scored a 9. Decent drive, soso 2nd shot that just drifted right. Then 2 $kanks, a duff, over flew the green, chip on finally and 3 putt.

And to make matters worse, after the 2nd $kank I had mud all over my pw, I went to hit the back of the cart to dislodge the mud on the plastic fender. The club glanced off the cart and caught me in the shin leaving a big goose egg that bleed for the next 4 holes, :laugh:


And great shooting to break 80 with a 10, WTG!

I just got back from the course by my house where I practice all the time. I was just down there $kanking my SW of all things. The thing is sooo touchy. I REALLY hope I don't pull one of those at the outing.... really embarassing.

Told you before to not worry about it. You will see many bad shots from all of us it won't be funny. Typically half of us of the 1st tee will totally stink the place up.
