Totally Lost It

I haven't had a problem hitting the driver all year. No slices. Occassional hook but overall great.

Yesterday playing with ejdahl21 and nututhugame I couldn't hit a drive to save my life. Or a 3-wood. Balloon ball slices, the works.

I'm 6'0" and weigh 230 lbs. and not much of it is blubber. I'm 62 but feel like 50. I shouldn't be puking out old man drives yet.

So I've got some "experimenting" to do at the range. Wish me luck.

Sorry to hear that, WBL. Take a day or two off, then go to the range and hit a couple of buckets. Swing like you don't care, and it'll come. Its what I do. Also, when I lose it, I always take one more club on every shot. Helps get me back to square one.

WBL.... I don't like to give advice. especially since I suck myself and my drives weren't exactly straight. Being able to stand back and watch gives me a perspective you don't have. IMHO I think you were getting handsy armsy. More swatting at it than hitting through it. I think you did know you weren't getting all the way through (heard ya say it.) I really try to stay connected and pound through the ball with my body.

Went out to the range today and hit two buckets. You called it pretty accurately. (And why didn't you SAY something? ) I knew what I was doing but damned if I could stop doing it. When I play with two long hitters I overswing and get "armsy". I "think" I fixed it today. I won't say what I did until it's been proven out on the course. Time will tell...

I don't want to be "that dude" giving unwanted advice. Next thing ya know there will be a thread about me. The thread will seem as if it's talking about someone else, but will really be about me. I started golfing a little after last year's U.S. Open. How do I look giving advice? Anyways.... I had fun yesterday and REALLY enjoyed the course. Short yes, but still had it's challenging points for sure. I will be going back some day. I'm really starting to get in the mood for Rivermoor.... soon.

I wouldnt freak out yet. You are doing to have your good days and your bad days. Id just chalk it up to a bad day with the driver and not worry about it.

You know.... this DID cross my mind.

But today the G10 and R9 must have something going on behind "my" back as I hit them both decent at the range...

And the R9 is longer.

YEP...IT HAPPENS....Same thing happened to me about a week ago...couldnt hit my driver at all...but I hit it decent last wednesday..it will come back to ya.

Played nine today. Just bagged the R9. Hit every fairway. Very strange.



Shot a 45 which is coming down some so I guess my "fixes" yesterday at the range helped.

Worked out my problems today. I was standing too far from the ball and leaning forward too much........my weight was on my toes, so when I swung, I was "swaying" forward or back just enough to not make solid contact. Went back to my normal more upright stance with my weight evenly distributated, and the results were amazing. All it takes is one teeny thing, and you're screwed up.
