Got a new driver the other day and was taking a few swings with it today and what do ya know.... skyball. Not a horrible mark at all, but there nonetheless. I'm almost glad cause now I have a reminder to not get too close to the ball and not come in steep. I really like this driver though. Unlike the Hibore it has a repeated ball flight. Fade. Nice fade. I need to work on alignment, ball position & tee hieght to perfect it, but I feel it is very doable with this stick. With the exception of tonight I have not mishit the thing once, which was a problem for me with the Hibore cause the head was so light. I am very satisfied with my purchase cause I just have more confidence at address. More reviews to come.

I've never actually put a skymark on a club. What is the root cause? Is the ball teed to high?

Maguires Scratch X...

If it's noticeable on the crown, it'll take care of it, and buff it all up nicely. If you chipped the paint at the edge of the face and crown.. I can't help you.

Yep, the Maquires works good. And if you chipped or scratched the paint, go to the hardware store and get a black paint pen. That is of course if the driver is black. The 1st swing of my FT-5 resulted in a paint chip, not bad, but it really ticked me off. And even though nobody else said they could really tell it was there, I saw it plain as day. A couple of dabs with the paint pen and it completely gone now,

Crown on the Rapture is a "see through" black composite. Not painted. You have to get the sun shining down on the crown to see the internal "web" weighting. Really cool.

Shame nututhugame.... shame.

But maybe she needed it so she knows who's boss.

It's not even hardly noticeable. Looks more like a fingerprint. Ya have to look kinda close to see it even. Point being that I hit a couple skyballs and that really pissed me off. Went to the range today with one purpose only.... work on driver. I hit some other clubs too, but mainly driver. Took my time and put some thought into it. Hit some good ones and a couple of bad. Funny how nowadays when I hit a slice I know it without even watching the ball. I know instantly. I take that as a good sign(knowing).

The Maguires will take the corners off the scuff and make it way less noticeable.

However, Maguires will not stop this from happening in the future.

Hence the reason for my range session. I thought about those damn skyballs all day at work and couldn't wait to get to the range and work on it.

Another thing that I have had great luck with is wet sanding using 1000 grit sandpaper to start with, then going to 2000 grit to get everything nice and smooth and then the scratch X. Looks like a mirroor when you do that.
