My Tin Cup hole.

Today I played the 8th hole on my home course like I was Tin Cup. No, I didn't keep dropping balls till I had to hole out my approach for a 12. I played the par 4 405 yard hole with just my 7 iron. And no, I hadn't broken all the others, I was just fooling around. I muscled up off the tee, and hit it about 175-180 yards. I pushed my second shot right a bit and ended up in the rough, about 65 yards out. I took to much off the 7 iron and came up just short of the green with my 3rd shot. Chipped it to within 5 feet with the 7 iron for my 4th shot. Then turned around and putted left handed with the back of my 7 iron, drained the putt for a 7 iron only bogey.

No real purpose in doing it or making this post about it other than I just wanted to see if I could do it,

Re: My Tin Cup hole.

I have had a few Tin Cup holes. But they're usually the ones where I try to make an impossible shot... 6 times.

And by impossible, I mean a-shot-that-for-some-reason-is-impossible-on-a-particular-day-for-no-conceivable-reason.

One day, on a 280 yard par 4 with woods right on the right side, I was suddenly stricken with the blocks.

Lost a lot of balls there....

I know what you mean SUX, this same hole has a water hazard on the left that juts out into the fairway. Its 280 to reach the water, 295 to clear the lake finger that pokes out into the fairway. One day I nailed my drive, hit the water on the fly. Then McElvoy took over my brain and I kept hitting balls off the tee, positive I could clear it. 2 more into the water, 2 into the woods on the right before I finally landed in the fairway between the lake and the woods.

Dohhhhhhhh !!!!!!!!!!!

Re: My Tin Cup hole.

Used to do this quite a bit at our old course. Once finished 2 under after 5 with only a 7i. I think I was even or maybe 2 over after 9 because I ended up in a deep greenside bunker and had a bit of trouble getting out.
