have you ever had one of those days...

where you thought you should have scored better than what you did?

yesterday, I hit the ball well all day....driver was straight and long, and even when I did hit a bad tee shot, my second shot was great....irons were good pretty much all day....chipping was alright...putting,..well?...missed a few easy ones....had two bad holes.....shot a 86....felt like I was playing good enough to shot below 80.

but it is what it is.

I have one "Hole in One"...and it was beautiful.

Breaking 90 is not a problem...but it seems like I'll never break 80

Low 9 holes: 38
Low 18 holes: 82

Re: have you ever had one of those days...

I just can't get it all together. I know what you mean. The other week I was striking the ball so well. Hitting greens, hitting fairways. Short game was so-so and I couldn't put to save my life.

This past weekend.. Opposite. Only 2 birdies, a snowman, and pars and bogeys. I could putt, and my wedges were insanely good. But damn if I couldn't hit a clean iron shot!

Those rounds that feel good, you realize you limped out.

Re: have you ever had one of those days...

I had one of those days last Thursday. I hit 13 greens and 10 fairways. I also felt solid on my short game. Putting wasn't good, but with recently aerated greens you can't expect much. Walked out of there with a 76. Very disappointing when you were one under through 14. Really bad when you finish bogey, double, double. But these are the days that keep us coming back for more punishment.

Re: have you ever had one of those days...

Had the exact opposite today, shot like shit & my score didn't take a huge hit due to some pretty decent chipping. Couldn't hit anything except my 58º & putter today. 3 pars & the rest bogeys which I feel lucky to have escaped with.

Only positive was found 12 balls.

Re: have you ever had one of those days...

Had a day like that on Monday in 40km/hr wind. Tee game was the best its been all year, hit irons straight (high or low depending on what I was going for) that had a very nice feeling I've NEVER felt before. I just couldn't get a break though.

My playing partners were joking at me because of the bad luck I was having. Ontop of all the bad breaks I had. My putting was the worst its been all year (right after one of my best putting rounds too). 42 putts, shot 93. I just couldn't feel what was going on. Even "gimmies" wern't going in the hole for me, it was kinda funny but frustrating for sure.

I was having huge trouble judging my distance with the wind, I took a 40yrd swing on an 80yrd approach shot, but still went 15yrds over the green, that pretty much sums things up. I could go on about the bad breaks, but I'd get sick of typing. . Was a very fun day of golf though, and I couldn't complain as I've never hit the ball so well, with such poor results EVER.
