1st money round coming up Saturday

Other than playing a few skins games for .25 - .50 a hole I've never actually played for money before. My home course doesn't hold a Course Championship for some reason, so a bunch of us are going to hold our own this coming Saturday. 2 man teams, $20.00 a piece to enter, winning team takes all. So far we have 12 people signed up so thats $120 a piece to the winning team. My playing partner is fairly consistent off the tee so I'll be teeing off with my 2r hybrid to make sure we have at least one ball in the fairway. My iron game is better than his and my wedges are my strong point. He is a better putter than me, although that isn't saying a lot.

Do I think we will win? I doubt it, some of the others entered can beat either of us on a daily basis in stroke play. But together we have a chance, so wish me luck,

If nothing else it will be fun, with plenty of trash talking going on, and I'll find out if I have improved in playing under pressure.

No need really, everyone involved shoots within 5 strokes of each other usually in individual stroke play. This is the group I walk with all the time. The best of the group shoots high 70's- low 80's. I'm probably the worse in the group averaging mid 80's.

Re: 1st money round coming up Saturday

I'm confused why you'd tee off with a 2 hybrid after stating your playing partner is fairly consistent off the tee. Wouldn't it make more sense to hit the big dog followed by those wedges you are strong at? Gotta' go low to take the dough!

I'm playing my first money match next thursday too. 2 man scramble and I have no idea who will be my playing partner or who else is in for that matter. One high 'capper and one low to make a team. $20 a team for a total purse of $200 to split.

I'm just looking to play decent and have some fun but the competitive side has me wanting to win and take home some monies.

Thats what I meant, on the holes I tee off 1st I'll use the hybrid, if he goes 1st and finds the fairway, then I'll pull out the FT-5 because when I do find the fairway with it, I'm definitely longer than he is.

Good luck to you as well 295!

Luck?

I say both of us just assume we already won the pot and pre spend the money on a new club like a real ho, LOL!

Good luck, I think it should be alot of fun.

Maybe post a follow up?

Re: 1st money round coming up Saturday

Oh too bad it wasn't a better day but at least you got to get out and get one of those bad days outta the system so you can shoot the lights out next time. You know how that works?

For me, I don't play 'till this thurs. Pretty pumped about it. Going to play a practice round tomorrow and wednesday with hopes of grooving something solid in my swing.

It's been hit and miss more than ever these days. I used to be solid with ballstriking. But oddly enough with my diminished driver and iron striking I am very pleased with my shorter shots and my putting is way better, even though i still suck in this department.

Somehow my scores are staying the same. Just play the game differently.

ITS WEIRD!
