Greens Crew Triumph!

Sunday was the day that topped all days, in my season to date. I've played all summer long with a group of guys I work with, in just little rinky dink tournaments around the local KW area and yesterday we finally won one!!

We have 6-7 guys on my crew that are dedicated to this little tournament team we've set up, it isn't ever hard to make a foursome outta these guys and I enjoy playing with all of them. Yesterday though, I think we found the All-Star line up. Everything we did worked so well, we worked amazing as a team, everyone did their part and it was like nothing went wrong. We carded a -3 round for the win, with one stupid bogey on the 16th (brutal putts from all of us!) But it was a super day had by all.

Best part of the day is the charity raised $1500, for local area kids in foster care. So the money went to a great cause. First year for the tournament too, with many more to come in future years I hope!

Re: Greens Crew Triumph!

Awesome Louie! The charity tournaments are great.

We have one at my old home course that benefits the Melbourne Royal Childrens Hospital. 4 man ambrose event and last year they had 224 people enter (56 teams) and raised about $7,500. Anyone can play (I have two mates who rarely play the game, they give them a handicap of 30 each) and another mate who plays off around 7 plus myself, obviously.

We have our own set of drinking rules (a swig for a good drive, finish your can/stubby for a birdie etc.). Last year we went 10 under through 9 holes and were absolutely plastered. We finished with 12 under (somehow) and could barely walk into the clubhouse.

This charity tournament has been running for around 5 years now and in that time we've won it 2 times, 2 seconds and a fifth, while also racking up around 300 cans/stubbies on the course not to mention a few in the clubhouse aswell.

Did I mention charity events were fun???
