Most horribly played round since the FIRST time.

As rainy the weather was today, my game was accordingly gloomy. I played at Meadow Park public golf course in Tacoma, Washington. Playing with my father and my little brother, I was not in contention in their duel for the lower score. Personally, I was really disappointed that I played 40 over. This is the worst since I have picked up the game.

Without any exaggeration, I literally had a shank every 2 or 3 shots. No joking. Usually, at North Shore, where I very often play, I play around 20~25 over. However, recently, even on North Shore, my scores are shooting through the roof. It is a horrible thing to experience. I never had such experience before, and I was wondering if any of you guys had the same experience or even experiencing it your self. Give your 2 cents on the subject.

Hey Tacoma

Just south of you in Olympia, normally play at Capitol City Golf course. Going to try out Spanaway this spring.

I got the shanks a few months ago, wicked bad. So I took a lesson. Turned out I was ****ing my wrist something awful and never releasing it back to its proper position. So my advice, shell out the 40-50 bucks and take a lesson. Sometimes it is something relatively simple that sneaks into your swing. I blame mine on this stupid medicus I borrowed. Garbage.

I plan to go back in a few weeks to check my progress and address my chipping game (or lack thereof). In any case, keep at it and good luck.

At least, if you're shanking, aim to the left.

The EXACT same thing happened to me this spring. I've gone through it a couple of times. Don't worry. What it does is force me to evaluate WHY things are happening instead of WHAT is happening. The results have been that I learned alot about my game and now I'm striking it better than ever, I'm down to about a 12 HCP and improving. Use it as a lesson.
