Range Reflections

I learned a couple cool things today at the range I'd like to pass along. First thing I did was hit all my shots off the grass. I used my own tee's (only about a half dozen surprisingly). Mats don't give up divots... and I take divots. Second I brought a red sharpie and scribbled on the back of the ball. The sweet spot on the R7 is much higher than I thought and catching the ball slightly inside of it produces a beauty of a draw. Outside of it, slice. Last I simplified hitting the draw and fade considerably with the driver and 3wood. I was too concerned with my feet when it's more in the shoulders. Draw-move it forward and go out and get it. Fade- come back in and biotch slap it. If I can hit anything remotely like I did today on the course tomorrow... I could have 40 putts and still shoot 85.

Ezra, you need to stop thinking so much and hit the ball. That JMO, what works best for me when im hitting it badly

And on that 40 putts for 85 note, im not far away. Putting has not returned this season yet. Yesterday had 17 putts on 9 holes...shot 37

bogey bogey bogey eagle birdie par par par bogey

Who said I'm hitting it badly?? Oh yeah, you are the only one who knows what I shot last round, SHHHH... I definitly am an overthinker but today I really simplified a few things. I am no longer using the head manipulation at impact to try to draw the ball. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Yeah, I've also found that getting out on the range and experimenting with different things really helps you a lot to sort out your swing and get to know your style of game better.
