Can't get rid of my snap hook with the Driver

I know what the problem is I just can't seem to fix it. What happens is when I take my down swing my wrists turn the club face in (closing it) and it creates a snap hook. This just happens with my woods, I am hitting my irons better than I ever have. I have never had this problem in my life and it is really pissing me off. I think my swing may be to flat or possibly standing to far away from the ball, but even when I try to correct that it seems to still be happening. So I was just wondering if there where any drills I could try or possibly something else.

Thanks,
Rosmo

Try half swinging a 3 wood and try to push everything right.
Your hands are getting behind so you are speeding them up to try and catch your lower half, this being easy to do, the hands turn over too quick. This could be caused by an algnment ssue also. Check your algnment.
You can also am left, yes left, and hit normal. You mght be surprised at the results.

I have this problem and have fixed it for the most part by changing my grip. May be worth a shot. on your top hand make sure the thumb is not down the shaft, but close to even with the tip of your index finger, which puts the club more in the palm. Make sure the bottom thumb is not on top of the shaft, which seems to cause me to close the clubface simply because of leverage. I am not sure there is any real merit to this, but it has worked well for me on my last 10+ rounds.

My dad hits these a lot. I usually tell him he's got the ball too far forward as I watch his swings. It seems he tends to let it get ahead of his left foot when he snap hooks. He has a slightly weak grip and hits a high slight draw when he's hitting well.

Rosmo, go back to the basics. Check your stance, posture and ball position. I had this same problem for far too long, and it was invariably due to these.

The problem is kind of a viscious cycle. You set up closed and too far from the ball, which makes the club set up closed, which sets your hands too far ahead of the ball, which puts your grip too strong and the ball too far back in the stance. This ball position, combined with the too flat/inside takeaway that the closed stance promotes causes you to smother the ball at impact. I'd also be willing to bet that you suffer from low trajectory with your woods too.

I fixed it all with a change to my setup, and now I am hitting long, tall slight draws and fades, depending on subtle little setup variations on the square-to-open stance, ball forward and hands even-to-slightly-behind.

The changes will feel and look radical and uncomfortable to you. But in no time they'll feel right and you'll thank yourself for doing it.
