Well since my putting couldn't get much worse

I was watching another lesson from Dave Pelz, he showed how Sam Snead used to putt "side saddle" facing the target and with the right hand really low on the putter and the left hand at the very top. I am going to give this a shot and practice for a couple of weeks before I try to play another round.

  2. Not to be a club ho enabler or anything, but sidesaddle putting is a LOT easier with a putter designed specifically for it:

There are a couple more sites like this out there. I tried it last year, but without a better putter for it, I was just as bad.

Sure but its one of 2 clubs in my bag that are safe

Its one of the 2 clubs in my bag I like, so what if its a traitorous whore, it looks nice.

(Not counting my Cleveland wedges here, technically there are 4 clubs that are safe.)

  4. I'm going back to my old putter...

and if that doesn't work, I'm switching to lefty. I actually used to use one of those old Spaulding putters, inside of 3 ft. I did go lefty. Worked pretty good, I stay on line but have no power for anything over 10ft.

    I even tried that too

Was flip flopping left to right with my dinosaur putter, figured if I switch hit the ball maybe I would get better at one of the other. After watching the Pelz lesson though I tried the face on method and my shots were more consistently straight. Now I really have to work on speed.

  6. Wow, it seems to me you guys are overcomplicating things way too much. I find that the key to putting is to use your knowledge of how your putter behaves and just hit the ball.

One proffessional (I forget who) takes the approach that putting is just like rolling the ball from your hand. You don't analyse how to release the ball and how much backswing, you just 'know'. It does take a while though to learn exactly how your putter behaves.

That's just my two cents, probably won't help you at all but anyway.
