Today I shall break 100,

if I can putt less than 40 times. I am going out in a couple of hours with my father in law, and I am going to putt well. I am going to hit at least 10 GIR's and 12 fairways. Will report back this evening.

No, 111

The worse part is I can't even blame it on my putting, 35 strokes with the putter. Had a Geezer group ahead of us, 5 foursomes of men and ladies down here from Seattle to clog up our course. 6 freaking hours for 18 holes, absolutely silly.

6 hours! I feel for you dude. I played 27 holes yesterday in 6 hours, and I have the sunburn to prove it. What was I thinking? Thank God I wore a hat.

5-6 hours is pretty common up here since it is a resort town, rather annoying.

Yesterday something happened that pisses me off even worse than long round, they are doing a lot of building on our course and I guess the new residents decided that they have just as much right to walk on the cart paths, and to the course as the paying golfers. I had to wait on some nuttball lady 3 times, the second and third cost me a stroke. One time she stopped and staired from the point I usually hit my ball. One of the other courses always has kids from the resorts playing on the course, at least with kids I can yell at them to get off the course before they are killed by a ball, and make them run off crying. Haven't quite figured out how to deal with the 50 year old walker that should have more common sense.

I wish I knew which house they lived in because I would love to slice one in their back yard and then take about 10 practice divots in their yard as I "play through".

Hey Jayhawk, two weeks ago I played at Ingleside for the first time in maybe 13 years or so, and I see that they sold off some of the land that used to comprise the back 13. Anyhow, I get to hole 12, and some father and his young kid, for no apparent reason decide to walk out between the me, the teebox and the fairway.

So I stand there, driver over my shoulder, looking out at them. Father looks at me a few times, but they keep ambling about for a few minutes. Man, that was annoying.

Hole 12's green was a green I remember though, it's got that severe slope, and if you get on the green, the smart play would be to switch out to a super-soft cover ball because anything else will just roll down that slope.

I remember 12 well If it really dries up it is impossible to hold, there were times where would lay a couple clubs on the green to mark where you could stop your ball, otherwise you could end up facing 5-6 20 foot putts in a row. They usually always have the pin in the level spot in the back left. It gets really interesting when you hit one of the back bunkers. They were supposed to dynamite that green about 4 years ago, but they decided to spend the money on golf carts instead.

Some of the time they would have kids running around in the fairway on 18 and 2 cats spend alot of time in the fairway bunker you hit over, ever now and then we would hit in the bunker and either see a cat dart out or peak over the edge. A guy I used to play with had a tendancy of going for that green with his driver, ever now and then he would hook the ball too much and hit it into the swimming pool on the left. The same guy very seldom hit a fade with his driver, but on #9 he would hit about 1 in 10 up onto the bypass. I guess you would say he could be pretty dangerous with his driver. That can be a dangerous course. We lived accross the street and 4 houses down from the 8th tee box, we my wife still had her Z3, it got hit on the trunk going up that road, another 3 feet and it would have hit her in the head. She heard the noise but had no idea what it was. We would occasionally find golf balls on our roads from a bad slice on 7.

The thing about the green for hole 12, I mean besides its ridiculous slope, is that the its fairway area is where hole 13's is now. Hole 7's teeboxes, IIRC, were almost directly behind the green for hole 6, but now there's that stretch of condos. Hole 7 played as a dogleg right par-4 back in 1991 when I first played the course.

And the condos sit on top of the hill, and there used to be a straight uphill par-3.

It's not too bad for its price at twilight, but the course was nicer before the condos, I think.
