Strange thing happened............

Strange thing happened on Thursday. A guy I work with ,(Lynn), and I both came down with a bad bug, and had to miss the afternoon. Even stranger yet, we both ended up looking for our doctors at the same golf course! We decided to team up and look for our docs together, one hole at a time. The starter paired us up with a husband-wife pair, Mike and Sandy. Mike walked with Lynn and me, and Sandy rode a cart. Lynn and I were like Robin Hood's merry men. We spent a lot of time in Sherwood forest. Lynn actually hit 5 different trees on one hole. But the highlight (?) of the day was Mike. He had bad tee shots on 1-3, and started cussing each time he hit the ball. On 4 he hit a great tee, but his 2nd shot was way off course. He must have decided that the angles on his clubs were wrong, because he spent a lot of time the rest of the afternoon whacking the clubheads on the ground. On 9, he skulled one about 45 degrees left for 10 yds. We offered to let him tee up a 2nd, but he passed. His second shot hit a tree about 10 feet out dead square, and nearly took off his head comming back. He threw his club into his bag and started walking for the clubhouse saying something about needing to take a leak. Throughout all of this, Sandy is wearing one of those uncomfortable forced smiles and repeating, "Mikes a little frustrated today".
Before teeing off on 10, Mike takes his push cart to the car, and loads his bag on to the wife's cart. His first shot hooks bad left, a good 50 yds into a freshly plowed field. He tees up a 2nd, exact same shot. He then throws his driver into his bag and drives Sandy to the ladies tee. the rest of the back nine were a combination of good shots when Mike would puff his chest out like a bull frog, and bad ones followed by the ground pounding routine. I don't know what pissed the guy off the most, his bad shots, or the fact that Lynn and I would laugh at ourselves whenever we hit bad. We kept telling each other, "Man, it's only golf".
I had heard of this behavior, but never witnessed it firsthand before. Is this more normal than I think?

What, playing golf instead of working? Yes!

When I first started playing I used to get really annoyed smacking my clubs off the ground or just picking my ball up and walking to the next tee but now I "take it like a man"(cue jokes) and release my anger the next time I get a driver in my hands.

It makes the game a helluva lot less fun if you can't have a good laugh about how much you suck at the game. My stomach usually hurts from laughter after a round.
