Busted!! Finally

Yeah. Last year when I shot 84 it was like a fluke and I was estatic. Now I look back at the round and see a lot of blown strokes. I'll be out again this afternoon with my dad. It's wet so I'm going to try to stick 'em close with the wedges. I was getting them within 2-3 feet of the pitchmark yesterday so I'll get more agressive and go right for the stick. It would be great to break 80 for the first time with dad there. I used to have a hard time beating him, he's in for a butt whipping today.

I had to go talking $hit, didn't I. I pulled everything, sculled, chunked, you name it all over the front 9 yesterday. I just couldn't get in my groove playing against my dad. He shot a 47 and I shot a 51 on the front. The good thing is I calmed down, stayed focused and came back. I shot a 44 on the back and he blew up with 50. I beat him by 2 but at 11 strokes over my previous 2 rounds.

Woo-hoo. I played a new course today, Cedar Creek, near Aiken SC. Hot, hot, hot, and definitely not a walking course, as each hole is about 1/4-1/2 mile separated from the previous. So call me a pussy, I rode.

As punishment, I decided to play the blues instead of the whites: 6659 vs 6247 yards, 71.9/137 vs 69.8/129.

I shoulda played the whites. Hit 11/14 greens, but I had no driver distance, so I was hitting long clubs on almost every second shot. Only 3/18 greens. 34 putts. Originally thought I shot 84, but it was really 89. Amazing what leaving a hole out does for your score.
