Eagle ?

I drove a par 5 in 2 yesterday for the first time ever. ) 525 yards! Played a pitiful course for the first time called 3 Oaks; pitiful because they don't have irrigation, the fairways are as hard as rocks, and the "greens" are blotchy.

Anyway, i hit a big drive, got up to the ball and couldn't see the green, which was over the crest of a hill. Knew I was about 200 out. Pulled my 21* hybrid and put my best swing of the day on it. Walked up to the green and the ball was dead center about 15 feet from the pin. Missed the eagle by 1 inch. :( Got a birdie, though.

On the very next hole, I was walking up the fairway, and WHAM!! A ball hit my foot on the fly, right between the Achilles tendon and the ankle bone. Lucky spot really, as all the damage is a bruise.

2 twentysomething guys in a cart come tooling along. I told them they really should yell fore if their shots are going into another fairway. I don't think they cared. Made my only triple bogey of the day on that hole I was so pissed.

I'm just glad I didn't get hit in the head or face or nuts.

Congrats Doc. You'll get another shot at it, as well as a few doubles and triples trying to get antoher shot at it. lol I missed my 8th career eagle putt the other day. Someday I hope to just leave a little tap in for eagle. It seems mine are always the longest, most breaking putts possible on the green. The one the other day was on a green that sloped from front to back a lot. The flag was middle left and my ball was middle/high right. I read too much break and didn't account for the first 5-6 feet actually being an uphill putt. I left about a 9footer from over 20 and 3 putted it.

My eagle attempt was almost straight, about 3" right to left break, and I hit it too hard, right through the break. I blame the crappy greens.

My best shot at it I left a 12foot straight putt an inch short. I don't play as many courses anymore I can drive par 4 greens at. That's where the majority of my chances have come. Also I am getting too wise as far as course management. There is a 293 yd. par 4 at the course I played yesterday. I tee off with a hybrid or a 6i depending on how much dogleg is in play from the teebox positioning.

I have only stopped a ball on a par 5 in 2 one time. Ended up 3 putting because I was so hyped. All my eagles have been on par 4's, 5 times on 2 short par 4's.

I did hit it over a par 5 yesterday in 2 which is worse than coming up short. Taking 2 much club in the sense that I didn't want to leave it short. I ended up chunking my 1st chip then put my second chip in for birdie. Although it did PO my wife because we were doing match play and she chipped on for a gimme par thinking she had at least a tie on my chunk.

i had my first last yr with a fivesome wathing after they let us play threw.drove the green (266 yrd.par 4).made a 20' with a 1' left to right break.

I've only ever sunk a ball from the fairway on a par 4 once. I've done it a few times on par 5's with wedges.

I came half a ball revolution from a 2 on a par 5 once. Toed it a bit....
