I'm going to "compete" in a golf tournament on Friday sponsored by my company... wish me luck!

Stay focused, stay relaxed, stay flexible, stay firm.

But I'm fairly useless for this. I've never actually been in any sort of golf competition except for the challenges I give myself to get better on the course. So I'm going to say that if in doubt, have fun.

No, the object is to compete at high level. Competition isn't meant to be fun.

I have been playing in Wednesday night 9-hole scrambles with some folks at work for the past 2 months and it is quite fun. No score card, no worries, just fun.

I disagree. It is entirely possible that TH's company is bloodthirsty and ruthless, and the executives would look down on any "having fun" or "enjoying it." In that case, TH should strive to be on her game in most serious manner.

The object is to compete while at a high level of intoxication. The fun part is making your boss drop his trousers if he can't hit past the ladies tee, then tomorrow pretend that you were so drunk you don't remember a thing.

No worries, it's just me and a couple of the other engineers here that are very laid back and fun. I don't have to worry about impressing clients with my golf game

One thing that I remember from my first year golfing, when I was at my school's practice, one kid said to my coach,
