changing my grip...

I was at the range last night hitting some balls and had a terrible hook with my driver and hybrids. Normally I use a baseball grip, decided to try an interlocking grip, and lo and behold the hook dissapeared... Going back today
to try it with my irons, feels a little strange at first, but the results are worth it...

Interlocking is def the way to go. Helps control your hands and set them to the same position everytime.

Tried it with my irons today, not working out to well, ,
but it really straightened out my driver and hybrids, ...
I guess it'll take a little more practice...

I had used the baseball grip for about two years. Monday of this week I changed to the interlocking grip. Yesterday, I shot under 100 (98) for the first time ever. Today, I backed up yesterday's 98 with another 98.

I'm not saying that the grip change is totally responsible; but I now consider myself to be a permanent "interlocker". The hands do feel more stable and consistent now. The only side effect, so far, is a little soreness around the knuckle of the pinky finger on my right hand. I expect that will get better after I have used the new grip for awhile.

Relax your grip, some 2g, and that will go away. Remember, for a righty, the last 3 fingers on the left hand provide most of the grip pressure, followed by the ring and middle finger on the right hand. The rest of the fingers are basically along for the ride.

I've noticed that a relaxed grip is so much easier than a forced one. I use to have a big problem with it, now I just let my hands control, but not nearly as...forcefully.
