Next Swingvid

Here's the latest, made it late this afternoon. Not sure what's up with the quality, last one came out much better. I hit a 7iron first, straight, draw, fade. Then 3 drives (with the R5TP 85S installed), first 2 were a slight draw and the last a fade. I'm still swaying too much but it's better. Backswing is more under control with the irons but still too much on the driver. Grip is still not perfect but it's working for now. Anything else you guys see bad, good, whatever. I like the way the driver swing is coming around. The takeaway is decent and I'm turning it up further into the downswing.

I've been cutting my own hair for almost a year now. It's a lot cheaper and I don't do too bad a job. I really don't care anyway, I live with my GF now, I can let myself go to hell.

Is that just the quality of the vid that makes your swing so slow? or is that your natural tempo?

At address your right hand is very strong (too much in the palm) this straight away will lead to a shut clubface on takeaway and at the top.

Added to that there is an overly long arm swing which will result in timing problems but the clubface again at the top is closed (facing the sky) so from this position at the top it will be hard to square the clubface and have a natural release.

i would guess you hit a lot of toe draw shots and also hit your irons a long way but also flight your woods quite low.

Grip : more in fingers of right hand

Backswing: Try feeling like you are making a half swing

1 of the 7i swings is at half speed and the second driver swing is at 1/4 speed. It's video editing. My average speed at a Callaway fitting with an FT3 and an NV-X was 113 and I got it up to 116 for a few at the end.

Thanks for the advice. I do have to work to get a good launch angle with the woods. I have a boring mid flight when I get a good swing on the 8.5*. I've been working on a long and low takeaway with the driver and it's improved my shots all around. I think I may need a lesson to work on the grip more. It tends to get very strong when I don't mind it. My bad shot is an OTT pull when I get steep and smother it. I also leave the face open every once in a while and get a push or a push-slice. Irons are pretty good though, long like you say, about 170-175 for a 7iron. I have pretty good control changing flights with iron shots too.

ezra just gotta congrtulate you on the excellent improvement. you still have a very unique swing, but it is still very on plane and fundamentally sound. i like it. good job. you must be getting damn near single digits right? i just got in near the end and went low for a bit and got to 8.9 before i packed it in for the year.

10.8 right now. I should easily get to singles next year. Thanks for the compliments. I was quite happy when I looked at the video, it's really feeling like it's coming around. I also hit the new driver very well today. If I can get it down I can really start attacking with the long game.

Congrats on your improvements. Why did you pack it in? Keep practicing, even if you can't enter scores.

well im working and i have lots of homework since you actually have to do work in high school lol. and im on the football team which takes up lots of time, but i do try my best to brave the cold and get out for a quick nine. that canadians winters is getting close there eh ? lol actually went out today for nine and shot +4 which was pretty good, and i was hitting the driver very solidly. just those damn wedges and that devil they call a putter kill ya when your rusty haha. had 2 3putts today one for par and one bogey. had no birds and 3 other bogeys, so a boring round on the card but solid nonetheless. ill try to get out once or twice, and i cant go to the range cas its closed so i may just play 5 holes with waterballs hitting new shots etc..

It looks to me like Ezra has really worked hard to improve his tempo. I remember a vid about six months ago in which the tempo was WAY faster.

Good work. You've still got that lateral motion thing going on, but I bet you are hitting more quality shots, since your timing is so much easier.

Well Ez, it looks nice. Very nice. I will emphasize what Charnock said.

Honestly, I'd like to see some of your draw and fade swings as well, those are the moneymakers(ha, no wonder I got called a Stylist).

If I put it together in the right order the last driver swing is a fade. I just open up my stance a bit and play the ball a few inches further back. Face sqaure, path a little out to in and a nice 10-15yd. fade. I think the last 7iron swing is a fade also. With irons I don't change the stance as much, I just either hold the face square through impact for a fade and turn it over, toe at the target for a draw. I also change the swing path slightly, a little in to out for a slight draw is my most comfortable, straight back and straight through gives me that little fade that drops 3yds. right coming in. I only change the stance when I am trying to hit a massive fade or draw with the irons.

OK, I just looked at it. Last 7iron is a fade, I can tell by how much longer I held it off, I stayed in the impact zone for like twice as long. Also last driver is a fade, I can tell by the setup and ball position. I know I caught a perfect 10yard fade on the last driver I had her record. It started heading at the 275 sign, faded and ran into the woods behind it.
