My "Swing"

OK guys, I quickly had this video taken just to get an idea on how my swing has changed from a few months ago. I tried to make some changes to it but there are still 1000 things I hate about it.

I keep my clubs at the course so I had to use and old driver. It weighs more than my R5 so I’m hoping that’s why I take it wayyy past parallel at the top. Probably not .

Anyway, I'll post a better video in a few days but in the mean time, tell me what you can about this one.

The angles also suck..I don’t know why the camera woman started to walk behind me. O wel..

So please tell me problems you see, and some tips if you would.

Thanks,
-ThatCanadianGuy

Will probably take a min for the video to load, It was slow for me.

Thanks Ezra.

Not to bad. My index is 6.9. Lowest score 71(+1). My lower body and hips have been giveing my a real problem latley. I'v hit to many shanks and blocks to count.

In the first round of a JR. tourny I hit 2 shanks, one just way left and one OB. At the end of the day i was still only 1 back. On the last hole I had the guy in second place by 2 shots. At the end of the day he had me by one. This was the hole I shanked OB. That was a happy 18th hole.

I have another video from the front but it's sideways.. you have to bend you neck 90* to see it. I can post it if anyone wants to see it.

+'s: good flowing swing a consistent tempo, also good balance and your head doesn't move which are all very important as you know.

(minor) -'s: Rather wristy take away (but if it's good enough for Mickelson who am I to comment). The first swing was not as good as the second which seemed better controlled with better weight transition and would not have faded (dare I say sliced) the ball as the first would have. Do you find that you occassionally slice particularly at the start of a round off the tee?

The shanks are probably from you getting a little handsy in your turnover from 90* back to 90* forward.

Other than that, you're swinging backwards.

eeek, I dont slice very much. If it goes left it's usally on a rope straight left. Sometime it has a cut, combined with the block. It's ugly. It can happen at anytime durring the round so I dont notice it if it's right off the 1st tee. I'm usally a hooker though.

Thanks for all the help. Ill work on the takeaway this winter

Little handsy from my what? I'm a little confused.

And as to swinging backwards..that was pretty funny, I laughed.

I mean it seems believe that your shanks are from your hands turning over much too quickly. YOu didn't seem to do it in the video, but I could see it happening.

It seems that you get quick up the top, could be the reason for hooks and blocks. If you count to 1 for me up the top and then come back down, you'll have more consistency. Good swing though

Since the camera angle was constantly changing it was hard to tell but it looks like you are a little inside of your swing plane. Are you hitting any hooks at all? with that wrist **** I could see occasional snap hooks. It also looks like you are straightening your left leg a little bit, this can partially limit your coil and reduce power. It is a little hard to tell since your pant legs seem to hide it a little. Good swing overall, not to many moving parts and your head is nice and still, spine angle looks great.
