no it would of been better to get the ball to go 1 foot more to the right but I dont mind a simple tap in for a par

On my last round in Indianapolis a couple of weeks ago I was trying to play a 'course management' round, so decided to play 2 pitching wedges to get the final 210yds to the hole rather than hit and hope with my fairway wood. Put what I thought was a nice hard swing on the ball, caught it flush on the bottom edge of the face, and flew it down the fairway to the fringe of the green, leaving me a long, long putt off the fringe to two putt and end the hole.

Why can't such badly hit shots ALWAYS do that and not fly over the green into the people on the next tee box?

Nice shot. I holed my 1st eagle last week from around 70yds. (I paced it 68 to the hole). I've had that heart thumping before but this is the 1st time I dropped one. What a great feeling it is. Shots like that obviously take a little luck but it's some skill. I took a walk to the right to see the pin position off the prior hole. Then took a 5iron off the tee to leave enough left for a 3/4 SW, a shot I can land in the 1st 15feet of the green and putt uphill for birdie. So yeah, some skill, some luck.

I love a "good miss". I once bladed a PW from 100 yards. That sucker was heading for a landing about 30 yards over the green when it hit the stick (TING!) and dropped straight into the hole. A centimeter off center and it would have ricocheted left or right.

It was cool.
