Nothing seems to be going right

Because I keep pulling everything left!

Ok, I'm done venting now.

Are you pulling through with your knees instead of your hips?

Are your hands turning over too fast?

Is your right shoulder moving forward higher than it should be(for an Arc Swinger).

Nothing wrong with a fade, if you know why and how.

No, nothing really wrong with it. Until I get to a draw hole and have to hit a 5iron. I usually plan on playing a fade approach as well and just let it go 10-15yds. L to R. It's always been my go to shot. I can pretty well lay into it, no worries. Draws are so.... cool though.

Yea, i know wat u mean Ezra. I used to be obsessed with hitting a draw, and hated hitting a fade, then my draw dissapeared, and it took me like 3 weeks to accept it, then i got used to it and i play a fade really well now, and can still hit a draw if i need to. But 7 outta 10 times youll be watchin my ball go L to R.

A friend of mine is the same i was, he hates a fade, but if he'd just play it, he'd be probly around a 4 hdcp, but instead he fights it and is around a 9 or so i believe... Just play watcha got and run wit it.

Yeah, that's me. A 9cap and still fighting a nice ballflight. Today at the range (with the driver) went like this. Try to draw it, pull, pull, there it is... draw and drawing and Ok, that was like 250 with a 60yd. draw/pull. Then I set up fade, 260-20yd. fade, 270-10, there we go, 280 with about a 3yd. fade. Then I go right back to sending balls into the puddles trying to draw it. I need to just accept it. My fades are so accurate and plenty long enough.... "problem is, you have too much game... or at least you think you do"

If you listen to interviews with pros about their pre-round warmup/routine, youll notice when theyre on the range, alot of them say "see which way im hitting it today". Obv everyone has a dominant way of hitting the ball, but sometimes your wrists or hips just go quicker or slower one day, and itll completely switch your flight. Just kinda have to go with wat your body is willing to give.

Truth about my fade is that i actually started drawing again at the range about 2 weeks ago, then bball tryouts i got my elbow ran hard into the floor by the biggest guy trying out (his 300 pounds falling on top of my 200 all on my elbow sliding across the floor), went back to the range next day, and just couldnt rotate that way through the ball, and my fade was back. Played that this weekend to two solid rounds of 74s. (it still burns though...)

I have the same problem. I've been hitting very solid shots that go left. I'm pretty sure it's due to a lack of proper shoulder rotation. When I feel good rotation and my arms swing up and on plane, I hit great (straight) shots. Try swinging your left shoulder down and towards the ball. Don't let your hands get too far behind you; feel like they are swinging up instead of around. You may hit some wicked slices if you do this and don't turn your hands over. But if you try to swing your arms up and over your left shoulder on the follow-through, you might be suprised at the good results.

From Ezra's thread,
Probably my hands are a little quick. The good news is I'm getting pretty solid contact, my timing just isn't quite there yet.

I posted my worse score all year. Believing I can hit it straight, I just kept aiming down the middle and got into trouble when the ball went left.

Man, I wish I knew how to hit a cut. That would be awesome. I can only hit draws and hooks..until next season. I plan on doing some big time work on my swing.

I'd like to have about a 1-5 yard high cut, and a 1-5 yard low draw in the bag. Instead of the 1-15 yard draw/hook.

Canadian.

Weaken your grip a bit, open your stance.

After my pulling experience last weekend, I realize I miss fading the ball. My best scores were posted during the time I was consistent with a fade. Fading the ball was kinda cool since the checks up fairly quicky upon landing. My pulls and hooks runs like a lost dog and finds trouble.

Lightbulb balance

Find your balance.
Place most of your weight on the balls and toes of your feet,
Not much on the heels, from start to finish
Where it's clear at the range, toss one of your old club out on the range until they fly straight.
Reel back the tempo and the distances to re-gain control over your direction.
Check your grips at the set up and at finish, bring back the club to address from the finish hold to see if your club was squared.
Then take a break from the range and spend more time putting, chipping, and pitching.
