I have an idea..

I have an idea. . Don’t leave!.

What do you guys/gals think of having a thread were we post videos of our swings, to see who has the 'best' looking swing?.

I mean..whos looks fundamentally best.

We would have to try to get the same camera angles for all the swings posted and get someone to judge them.

Anyone else think this might be fun to try?

Maybe a prize of some kind?

Well, it's difficult, because it's more the play, than the swing.

Well you would have to pick a person to judge before the challenge.

It would be best to have the swing video of someone hitting the ball too.

I have ideas:

1. Must hit a ball
2. Must be a certain club
3. Must be from a certain angle
4. Camera distance needs to be x.xx amount of feet from the player
5. Cameras should be set at XX FPS (Frames Per Second)

Im not sure if all can, but standard is 29fps. I can do 1,000fps but you need a lot of light.

I think you are confusing fps with shutter speed.

ALL consumer video cameras shoot at 29.97 frames per second (commonly called 30 fps). Some pro cameras can shoot at 24 fps to mimic film cameras, but 29.97 fps is the norm. There are highly specialized scientific cameras that can shoot video at higher fps, but these cameras are very, very, VERY expensive. The cool Tiger slo-mo video was shot with one of these cameras.

All consumer camcorders can, however, shoot at different shutter speeds. Standard is 1/60 sec. Most can go down to 1/1000 sec or faster. As you stated, this requires more light for good images. What faster shutter speed gives you is less blur in slow-motion or still-frame.

Your right, I got the two confused. I am a flash animator and use FPS all of the time, must of got jumbled in my over filled brain.

OK, the club must be driver.
You have to be far enough away so we can see both the shoes of the player the shaft at the top of the swing
You must be hitting a ball

What's up with all of that swaying? You need to turn with your belt line up to your shoulders, you sway big time to put weight on your right foot and not allowing your lower body to coil with your upper body. You are robbing yourself of power.

I noticed that you slow down right before impact, when you look at your video you will see your left shoulder blade stalling, this is a sure tale sign that you are trying to hit the ball and not swing through it.

You are losing quite a big of distance with the few problems I have noticed. Is this the grip that you always use? man if I was using a grip that strong I would be hitting massive hooks.
