One of the happiest days of my life.
Well, on sunday we found out my mom needed open heart surgery. After spending the last few days randomly breaking into tears and such, we had the surgery done today. They ended up doing a quintuple bypass this morning. Got word shes doing perfect, and she should be waking up soon. So, for now im going golfing and then going to see her at 5. (ICU only lets visitors for 5-10 mins every 4 or so hours.) This really put things into perspective for me. I haven't touched a ciggarette since sunday and i found out how much my family does mean to me. Sorry if this is pointless, im just kind of still dazed at this whole situation.

glad to here the good news.

in know how scary it is to have them mess around near the heart.my mother had a murmur repaired when i was in 7th grade(about 27yrs ago) yrs ago and it scared the hell out of me then.4 yrs ago my father had a aneurysmjust below his heart in the main artery to the lower body.then 1/2 a lung removed because of his smoking habit.he finaly quit 3 yrs after losing 1/2 a lung.now he tells me he has another aneurysm.

so enjoy your golf and enjoy your family.

also stay away from the cancer sticks.

fantastic news CF....and every time you think about smoking...get an image in your mind of your mom lying in that hospital bed on a respirator...that will keep you motivated.
