How much do you part timers earn?

I am just curious to know what people like myself still in education earn a hour. I currently work in the pro shop for approx £5.50 an hour around $10. It isn't great but I get a little discount on golf products and it allows me to be able to afford the things I want to do e.g. run a car, socialize and play golf tournaments.

I was parttime for a while, recently just moved to fulltime. I am a millwork sales specialist at Lowes. I made $13.75 an hour + commision on all special orders. I would most weeks earn about an extra $250 a paycheck. Now that im fulltime and dont need to buy into any benifits, im up to 15.50 + commision and im bringing in ~$400 extra every two weeks.

Millwork at Lowes?

Hmm....

Windows, doors and such?

I have a thought, tell me if it's any good....
Big Box home centers such as Lowes and HD have a bad reputation among industry professionals BUT, did you ever consider shopping your card around big construction sites on your own time?

I'm thinking that with a little legwork you could easily triple your sales, especially if you can market name brands like Andersen and Thermatru at a discount to big time builders.

Just a thought.

The last time I worked part-time was for about $4 an hour. Now I am showing my age but that was just back in the 80's

Most of my part-time work is coaching, which isn't glorious money, all things considered. But I love it.

I did work in a golf shop for a while for about 8 an hour. That was pre-18 though.

I'm a metallurgist for a transmission company fulltime but I have a friend (doctoriate in metallurgy) who is one of the worlds' top metallurgical guru's. He used to be a top executive with a major heat treat furnace manufacturing company but broke off to form his own metallurgical "consulting" firm and is making more money now then he did working for the other company (six figures). I happen to have alot of "hands on" heat treating experience (which is not common) and he has me help him on projects and pays me $50 hour. Mad money. I also make cyber aircraft to load into Microsoft's Flight Simulator 2004 and all the work required doesn't come out to minimum wage, but it's a hobby. I'll still get a nice $2,000 check once in awhile. More mad money.

Yes sling, We do that alot with developers. I am the youngest so the other specialists have more contacts already but I have gotten a 60 house development for 2 storm doors each, a 35 room aparment building for new entry doors. Plus its alot of word of mouth, windows have the biggest margain for us, but ive only gotten into arrangements with one builder for his development on windows. We offer thermatru, pella, benchmark, peachtree, thermastar and can special order many other brands. Some of the guys make $1500-2000 a paycheck on commision alone.

Oh man that brings back memories. That was my first job ever. 16 years old and getting paid $1.75/hour. Course, gas was $0.30/gal., and you could score a lid of primo for $30. The times they are a' changin'.

i just started as a golf sales associate at Dick's Sporting goods this week. i'm getting $7.50 an hour. not impressive, but just some extra $ for golf and school.

i'm at a location where there aren't a crazy amount of golfers who live around, so most of the time its going to be pretty slow, but its good doing what I love and being around equipment.

i know how to work our launch monitor now (figured i'd wait a couple weeks until i start asking to use it), i'm still trying to figure out from the inside if we juice our launch numbers...we'll see how that goes.

i've also been lined up to receive training on all the club repairs and custom fittings we do. so it should be a really educational experience

i work in the clubhouse restaurant at my course. i work about 25 hour weeks, at $8.00 plus tips. i get a cut from the waitresses as well as the bar tips so it ends up to be about 12 bucks an hour. 600 bucks every two weeks. not bad for a 15yr old
