My dream car.....

I've been waiting years for these....this new model has just been rolled out in showrooms all across Alabama and demand has been high....

Big trunk with lots of room for clubs and excellent air-conditioning.

The only complaint from consumers so far is a periodic bad smell coming from the engine compartment....

What's so hard to understand about Alabamites?.

They're just slightly more redneck than Georgians and slightly less than Mississippians. It's all influenced by the drainage towards the Mississippi River.

These hot new vehicles are just flying off the lots here. Unprecdented demand - especially from TreeHuggers.

After all we're GOING GREEN down here in Alabama...leading the nation in the War Against Global Warming.

This dude emits no greenhouse gasses, only an occasional 'poot' of harmless methane gas. And the solid waste emitted by the engine is used as a fertilizer in the fields where we are growing corn for ethanol...lowering the nation's dependency on foreign oil.

What's up with you guys out in California??? Get with it...the entire globe is going down the tube and it is the Redneck Nation that is leading the way to a better planet!!!

I'll take a Cayenne over a Land Rover (even a Range Rover S) any day. Don't get me wrong, the Range Rover is a bad-ass vehicle, but the Cayenne is in a class by itself.

True story - a 350HP Hummer recently challenged a 98HP Ford Model T to a hill climb competition. For those who have never heard of a hill climb, here's a description of the American brand (the following is a motorcycle-only hill):

With its 62- degree average slope, and near vertical 20-foot wall near the summit, The Big Nasty lives up to its name, year after year, and it isn't uncommon to see unsuccessful riders and machines careening wildly back down the hill after being turned back by its nastiness. Of course, no real hillclimb is complete without "Catchers" the men armed with hardhats, ropes and big hooks, who try to catch the riders and machines before they can start flipping down the slope. Sometimes the catchers make some great saves……..and sometimes they don't.

The hill they used for the Hummer vs. Model T competition was significantly easier than "The Big Nasty", but still - The Hummer made it to the top of the hill is 10.43 seconds, only to see the Model T waiting for it at the top.

You gotta' love that.

I saw it on the news. Would you like me to present some authenticating documentation?

I had the time wrong - the Hummer did it in 10.74 seconds...
I also had the Hummer's HP numbers wrong - it's listed here as 306HP
And the Model T's - 98HP instead of 100HP as stated.

Oh heck - I'm just plain wrong...

I'm waiting for our Scottish friends to tell us what they are paying for petrol these days.

When I was there last year it was damn close to $8.00/gal.
