Should be great. I went to Ozzfest 2001 here in Tampa. They had a whole bunch of bands I didn't really know playing outside the arena during the daytime, then they moved into the arena at night. You could buy seats or floor tickets. We bought seats and sat there for Papa Roach, Disturbed, Linkin Park, and a couple others, then I went down on the floor for Slipknot, Marilyn Manson and Ozzie.

I'd seen Black Sabbath a long time ago, and the Ozzman had Tony Iommi and Geezer with him. Killer. Ozzie really comes alive when he's onstage. I'd seen Manson before as well, and he just ROCKS in concert. I never miss his shows if I can help it. I had never even heard of Slipknot, but became an instant fan at that show. Those guys are...well, you know.

Ozzfest 2001 rocked. I hope Ozzfest 2007 is as good for you. I know Alpine is a great concert venue. Used to go there a lot when I was in High School.

You bought a CD and got the ticket free, right? That's a pretty good idea. Ozzie must be spending a fortune on this tour - not that he doesn't have the $$$....

Have fun.

The lineup for 2001 was awesome though I love slipknot and really want to see them in concert and their new album is supposed to be the hardest yet. Ozzy has Zakk Wylde with him for this show. I could've bought a CD but instead I just put in two email adresses and got codes adn redeemed them for 4 tickets (2 each). Should be awesome.

Not many bands in this year's lineup that I know (must be getting old). But Static-X is great. Lamb of God is pretty big; I just haven't really listened to them. Hatebreed is alright.

That band Lordi looks pretty nuts. I see a lot of people saying they were great, and a lot of people saying they sucked. Let me know what they were like.

Will do I downloaded a couple of Lordi songs just to see what they were like and I really like them because they sound very "classic rock" I do enjoy some static x but I cannot stand the song Destroyer its played on every radio station here around twice an hour and just the way he says destroyer is annoying.

I went to Ozzfest in San Antonio, All I can say is the word amazing would make it sound like it was crap. It was a damn amazing concert. The main Stage was good with Lordi (which was so-so), Static-X (who did an amazing job), and Lamb of God ( They blew everyone away esp. with "Black Label" and "Omerta") didn't get to see Ozzy which was a shame since I heard he did a really good job.

With that being said, make sure to get there early and watch all of the Second stage bands. Hatebreed Destroyed, there were loads of pits everywhere and their set was loaded with energy and had everyone singing along. Other bands to watch out for are Ankla ( fuse of metalcore and latin music, which really suprised me), In this moment (Female fronted band with a good mix of singing and deep growls and screams), Behemoth (who, IMO should have been on the Main stage), DevilDriver (singer from Coal Chamber, with a really heavy sound). The other bands were so-so. 3 inches of blood has a sound much like Iron Maiden, so if you're a fan of them I would check them out if I were you. Daath, The Showdown, and Egypt Central were okay, you can most likely go eat or whatever during that time and not miss too much.

Overall, you're in for a hell of a show. And I hope you have a blast.

I cannot believe that I am watching the death of America here, on an obscure, internet golf board.

Death of America? Since when is Metal the death of America? I would consider the hip-hop scene more of a cause of death to America.

LOL im leaving tommorow afternoon so I can still get in 9 holes and see my favorite bands. and I agree hip-hop is more of the "death of america" than metal is. Metal gets a bad rap from people that havent experienced a metal show most of the people there are very nice and you know give ya a beeer out of their cooler if your out

Metal is like Monty Python. You either "get it" or you don't. No shame in not getting it. None in lovin' it, either.

I went to it in 2000, left when Pantera started(Id sooner wipe my ass with a confederate flag than stare at the giant 50ft one Pantera had above stage... no offense to anyone in particuliar), also missed out on Ozzy. Not a big metal fan at all, just went because i got a free ticket. funny to see the 50 year old burnt out groupies.

Im more of a hiphop fan, and I see where people can get to hate it, in fact, the music I hate the most is certain hiphop groups... Usually the groups /"artists" dishing out pure ignorance and stupidity.
