PRE-SCHOOL TEST

Pre-school children were asked the following question:

"Inwhich direction is the bus pictured below traveling?" ATT1.jpg

Lookcarefully at the picture.

Doyou know the answer?
(The only possible answers are "left" or "right.")
Think about it


Still don't know?

Okay, I'll tell you.

The pre-schoolers all answered "left."

When asked, "Why do you think the bus is traveling in the left direction?"

They answered:

"Because you can't see the door."

How do you feel now ???

Oh yeah. That was the opener from Blaine's first TV show. Totally freaked me out when he told me what card I'd picked. I know how he does it, but that doesn't make it any less cool.

Maybe I'm just a little too visually twisted in my thinking here. I still would stand by my first thought that came to my mind after thinking about it for a minute or so. That being that it is traveling right at me. Two headlights and a hood, as opposed to a bus with two wheels. Or at least the view a preschooler would see while standing in front of a bus.

your thinkin to hard bud it doesnt say anything about standing in front of the bus.plus with your logic.(and i can see where your coming from now that youve pointed out the headlight thing)the bus wouldnt be going left or right but stiaght at you.

Yeah, I've never been accused of not being able to think outside the box. Although it still sickens my wife when we watch the show "Are you smarter than a 5th grader"

Since that diagram isn't chocked full of detail, a person wouldn't think there would be a door anyway.
