Favourite Breakfast Eaterie in the U.S.

I would have to plump for the Metro Diner on 94th Street (or so).

Fantastic breakfasts in a typical U.S. diner set-up (how I had imagined it, and the sort in which you see on movies).

My favourite was the waffle I had with loads maple syrup on it. It was immense !! I had pancakes and an ommelette before that, too. Most excellent !

I would like to try Dennys and their Slumberjack-something-or-other dish when I next come Stateside.

Over an' out,
Andy

A better chain breakfast eatery is the Cracker Barrel. More of a Southern slant on breakfast, but it makes for good eating.

Denny's was more of a college all night drinking next morning event. Not pretty, but it filled you up cheap.

One of my favorite things about going south or west out of NJ is the chance to get my breakfast at Waffle House...

Of course, living right in the middle of the land of Diners I'm somewhat spoiled for choice when it comes to breakfast choices!

By ****, that sounds good !!!!

What about that International House of Pancakes place ? A guy we go to The British Open with every year went to one in or near Las Vegas. Now this guy is seriously overweight and loves his tucker. He also tells a good story and how he described him foaming at the mouth going to this place was quality...

Denny's sucks. So does IHOP (international house of pancakes). Cracker barrel is excellent and so is waffle house. Lot's of small mom/pop restaurants around here with really good food.

Waffle House sucks & so does Huddle House.
Dennys isn't bad, their French Toast is pretty good but their Biscuits & gravy isn't.

IHOP is horrible as well, haven't ever eaten at Cracker Barrel for breakfast but have had dinner many times & have always liked it.

I think Bob Evans is lousy too.

Anyone miss Stuckeys?

Bacon, Eggs, and hashbrowns. And I put red chile on the hashbrowns.

honestly i have never been to denny's.. and i have no desire whatsoever to go there..

IHOP is decent..

if you want good breakfast you need to go to a mom and pop place.. some of the best breakfast's ive had have come from the middle of nowhere in ohio...

but i dont eat out much for breakfast... breakfast food just dont interest me, im all about lunch and dinner..

Here you go, Andy. I used to live a couple hours north of Tampa, and worked night shift. A bunch of us would go here for breakfast.

The food was actually pretty good.

I am not a big fan of Breakfeast, but when I do it is usually a local diner. We do have a local diner where you can pick up about a 6 egg omelet for a couple bucks. If there is not a local diner available then Cracker Barrel is definately second to none IMO. In the last few years I have likely eaten breakfast at Cracker Barrel more than any other place.

Got a kick out of the Denny's comment, as we spent many a' nights in college after drinking till the wee hours of the morning at Denny's. They would also serve you coffee through the night while studying for finals.
