Ever tried sticking a Hemi engine on a snowblower? That'd kick it up...

Rory, I like your logic, but its flawed... the snowblower alone doesnt prevent snow...you need to have gas and extra shear pins for it too

Come on, if we didn't have snow (well - if YOU didn't have snow...) then how could we have periodic floods devastating thousands of stupid people's homes in the Mississippi River valley that were flooded a decade ago yet they rebuilt them and drove everybody's insurance rates up? Just like the stupid people in Florida who build on the coast after a hurricane erases their homes. And the stupid people in California who build on fault lines. And the stupid people in New Orleans who...oh, never mind.

Getting slammed here and what horrible timing. It started around 11am and by 12 the driving was very dicey. I got out of work at 12:30 and got home at 5 past 4. It's a 25 minute ride usually. I was at the same intersection for over a half hour, 4 blocks from my house. What a friggen mess.

Eracer
This reminded me of when I used to live in Burlington and every spring would drive down where all the homes were built on the flood plane of the Fox river. Sure enough, boats anchored by the front door, water half up the sides of the houses that weren't already built on stilts. EVERY YEAR these people were flooded out but I kept seeing MORE houses going up in there. DUH!!!

Iowegians suck!!!!
Ice took down power lines all over Kansas this week. We were one of the lucky ones. I was out of town, but wife was only without power for 14 hours the first day. It was off another couple of hours the next. Many in our town aren't expected to get power back on before next week. Some in the rural areas are being told 10 days to 2 weeks before power will be restored. Shelters are full... The Salvation Army and Red Cross are setting up "warming stations" so people can find some place to warm up.

They said over 600,000 were without power at one time in Kansas. (I didn't even know we had that many people in the entire state!!!!)

Now, they are calling for 6 to 8 inches of snow beginning late tonight for our area. Ice is still on the trees, as it has not warmed up enough to melt it off. Warning that the snow on top of the ice will bring more trees down and more power lines down.

So... you can take your recently repaired snow blower and drive it right up your..........

We'll have to see if this theory works. Supposed to get a bunch of snow tonight and I just went out and bought a snowblower this afternoon.

Okay, it didn't work!! We've gotten six inches or more and it's still snowing....

Maybe if you go out and start it up? For no reason?
