Not sure that it will help, but here is a previous similar link.
Ugh..Firefox?

Never had a similar problem and have used Firefox for a couple years in switching over from Opera. Although I am kind of anal in doing backups, I usually do not have to rely on them. ***Knocking on Formica***

First of all Firefox isn't a POS... it's the most reliable browser I've ever used (and I've pretty much lived on my computer for at least the past 15-20 years).

That said, look in your "Documents and Settings" folder in explorer. Under your user name and Applications Data you should find a folder for Mozilla and under that Firefox with a folder called Profiles under that. There should be a folder with a (something).default and a bookmarks.html file there -- those are your bookmarks. There should also be a bookmarks.bak file which is a backup of your bookmarks that Firefox creates every time you exit the program. You can just rename the .bak file to bookmarks.html and that should restore your bookmarks.

If that doesn't work, under your .default profile folder there should be a folder called bookmarkbackups -- you should be able to copy one of those to your default profile and rename it to bookmarks.html -- that will also restore your bookmarks.

Kids.

That happened to me a couple times. What a pain in the arse.

I now have..19 bookmarks..and most of those are online gaming clans. Just not worth the effort to put them back..just to have them disappear next time I go for them.

I've had zero problems with firefox. And it's so easy to change the way it runs so it speeds up the internet.

I can't tell if it made a difference on mine. I think it did a little bit though.

Make sure you restart Firefox after you do the configurations. I kept surfing for about 10 minutes after I did those, didn't notice anything so I was going to change back all the options just incase. But I restarted Firefox and noticed a difference.
