What would you do if you were in my position?

I ordered Clubs from golfsmith on March 15th. UPS lost 'em and they're locating the package right now.

I've contacted UPS twice and Golfsmith Twice. Golfsmith did not answer.

Where do I go from here?

I'm planning to go golfing in at least 2 weeks, not sure what to do next.

Keep bugging Golfsmith. Tell them you've waited two weeks, and you want a replacement set. I would call Customer Service every day. And anytime a low-level agent doesn't give you the answer you're looking for, ask them their name or employee number and ask to speak with their manager. Do it politely.

It is their responsibility to file a claim with UPS. I'm not sure how long UPS can legally try to find the clubs before declaring them truly lost, but you've waited long enough, and Golfsmith owes you the same set of clubs at the same price you paid. Let Golfsmith worry about collecting their money from UPS.

You may have to tell Golfsmith to cancel your order. I'm sure you don't want to do that, but how long are you willing to wait?

This is what I would, especially if Golfsmith is not answering your calls. In doing so you will likely light a fire under them to get it resolved, and if it doesn't get resolved within the day of saying so, get the money and move on and order new ones.

Just curious, did you order from a store or online? If it was from the store, call the corporate offices. If it was online, then I would just tell them to cancel the order.

We had an instance with them when my wife ordered her clubs, and we she mentioned canceling the order because of delays they really fought to get it resolved. Although after I started checking around, I did find this case was an issue with Callaway, and the fact that my wife is left handed. They had run out of the heads for the 5w and it was delayed several months, she had also order the smaller driver and they shipped the 454 which was $100 more, so Golfsmith told her to try the 454 and if she liked it they would give it to her at the same price, if she didn't the would order the other. The never got the 454 back. The manager at the store did everything he could to resolve this and not lose the sale, but I'm not sure online they have as much at stake so if they are not returning calls it is likely time to cancel. If it was at the store, at this time I would skip the calls and show up. As Eracer mentioned, this is their battle to fight with UPS, not yours. Since you ordered on the 15th, it sounds like they shipped within 2 weeks, so if you act now you should be able to get a new set in time.

Also if they give you grief about canceling, assuming you paid with a credit card, they bill when it is shipped so make sure you dispute the charge with your credit card company so you have record of the date you canceled.

Give the GS one last chance, call their customer service and let them know you're cancelling the credit card transaction if it's not resolved.
If no club before you go no your trip, no payment.

All the advice has been so good I have but one tip...

Contact sssmokin, tell him that USPS and UPS must now fight a holy war, and that all clubs looted by USPS, must be sent to you.

It makes sense.

I sent an e-mail last week, just got my reply today, and they're replacing my order at no cost.

This should've been done a while ago.

I'm just glad it's solved.

Good news. May the guy who stole the other set have a golf ball sliced hard into his nutsack.

When they scan it and say that it's "Out for Delivery" does that mean its put on the truck that should deliver it to me?

I know the guy who delivers in my area for UPS.

It means that it's being sent thru the crusher right now and should be thrown out of the truck to an undetermined spot near you within the next week.

Holidays excluded, of course.

Yes. I've finally got the guy who comes here doing it correctly. He leaves packages over the fence into the backyard, beeps when he pulls up and always leaves a slip if I'm not here for a package that needs signing. They still beat the packages to he!! but at least they're not right out in front of the house for any hoodlum to grab on thier way by.
