Question Anyone attended or visted Pfeiffer U. or Flagler College?

Just lookin on some info on these two schools. End of the year is here, conference tourney this coming weekend and papers and exams are in site of their dates. This also means I'll finally get outta here, and I want to visit some options going into this summer.

I do not think I'm going to get too much further with my game if I stay here, I am hands down the number one player here, the only other kid who can play me for it cant putt (but honestly from tee to green beats the hell out of me).

Just checking out a bunch of options and these two schools both look promising to me, both have solid golf teams that have potential and I've heard very good things about the schools, just wondering if anyone knows some more about them than I do?

Pfeiffer is just outside of Charlotte NC, and Flagler is in St. Augustine, FL.

No idea...Check out CSU Bakersfield though. They are in the process or transferring D1 but were consistently top 10 in D2 and were rated top 50 golf schools by Golf Digest last year. 1.5 hours from the beach, 2 hours from the snow. What more do you want?

If they were top D2 consistently I dont think i'd be able to play there, I looked at two top D2 schools when I started looking into schools (Western Washington and Columbus State (where Immelman's bro coaches)), and I definately didnt have the game for those schools last year, as my game is at right now, i'd probly be a number 6 to 8 player on either of those teams. A top D2 school can compete with top30 D1 schools no doubt. Those two schools im looking at are mid-high ranked D2 schools (Pfeiffer is like 50something, and Flagler just transferred into D2, but they are solid). Both are teams I could be a starter as long as I stick to my game unlike ive done this year.

As much as I REALLY want to move closer to home for school, i just wont be able to really develop my game if I go back west, if I can pull off a school in CA, 1 itll cost me 5x more than over here, and two I cant make any decent teams over there, as all the decent ones are top teams unfortunately.

I dont want to sound like a jerk, but doesnt changing schools every year really hurt your education? This would be you third school in two years correct?

Piper, I recognize you're #1 at your school, but are you #1 in your conference? I would think your real competition would be on the teams you play against. Unless you're beating the brains out of everyone on every team you play, why change schools again?

Also, have you got a good coach? If so, then why?

Just some food for thought.

If you transfer don't you have to sit out a year or something like that?

The transfer really isnt about my competition, we play tournaments against great players, if I was beating the hell outta everyone id go to UNC or Duke, that definately isnt the case.

The look at the move isnt about who im playing against, its who im playing with and the school. If my last school had golf, i would have stayed there as I loved the people and teachers there. What I dont want to do is leave myself in a place that I do not like, and I am not very fond of staying here at this school.

The golf aspect of it is to go somewhere that is actually a real golf team, I thought i had found that here, noone cares about anyone else, as much as its not really a team sport, noone cares here, and there is a ton on conflict between the coach and everyone and he has not handled himself in a mature manner at all for most of the year unfortunately, and what the "future" of the golf program here does not look promising. My having the number one spot here will not change, I am competing against myself and the people i see 4-5 times in tournaments, past that its pointless as soon as we have "practise" everyday as coach doesnt do anything, he practises himself and goes out and plays and the team just sorta goofs around.

Education wise its not really great, but im doing my classes and keeping my grades up, Acc 101 or Eng 305 is the same no matter what school I go to really. The reason I came down here was to pursue golf and new opportunities, that is the reason I moved down here from PA, and the reason Im looking at transferring to another school now. I do not want to keep doing this nor enjoy it, but what is the point in staying here when ill just be bored out of my mind and miserable with the people here. I can get just as good an education for 10x cheaper back home at the university in my home town a 20 min walk from my house, but I want to pursue golf and be somewhere new that I enjoy, and I do not enjoy being here at my school.

Im sure some ppl here are looking at this as immature or stuff like that, but im just trying to find somewhere I enjoy being and want to be, Im hoping I can find a place to do the rest of my schooling and play golf, enjoy myself and have fun. I dont think any of you would do too much differently if you were in my situation, college is about having fun and learning, im definately learning a lot, but not having fun, so I have to find somewhere I'll enjoy learning more.

Im pretty sure that I will not have to sit out because im coming from a D3 school, if I was at a D2 or D1 I would have to sit out I do know that.

I'm thinking there's a good golf school in SC..Coastal Carolina or something like that, maybe? You SC guys, help out with this?

I know very little about the college golf scene, but that name seems to keep popping up for some reason.

coastal carolina has a very good team. i have never played with piper, but from what he has said, i am not sure he could compete there.
Piper, i am currently looking at my college options for golf, as I am a junior in high school. I hope to god that i make the right choice the first time around, i dont want to have to go through what you are looking at.

Fore- just make sure you take SOLID looks at whereever your interested in. I have not had much time as I never had great results in HS and stuff happened quick. Make sure you make visits and talk at length with the coach and possibly the team.

Basically my game is at where I can go to any course in any situation and expect myself to shoot under 78 without any difficulty. Ive been playing like crap imo the past couple weeks, and my highest score has been a 77. Now my game is in a spot where im on the brink of firing in the 60s without much trouble, but since i never had great results in HS its tough to get myself into a school that can really compete. Most good schools, like a top D2 or 20-50 ranked D1 i would be a 6-8 player, I never really have gone low, but I never go really high either, im always good for a +2 to +6 round of golf, next step for me is to get the rounds from 68-72 in tournaments, anywhere from a 72 to a 76 is expected from me right now if I bring my B or even C game to a tourney.

Looked at results from CC, same idea, id be a 6-8 player until i really started going low in practise, then i might play semi-regularly. My game isnt one that a D1 school would take at the moment, they take the players who go low in practise and get a 60 in there now and then, not a player who shoots 72-78 all day long, cuz they know that a 68 and a 78 work better than two 74s, cuz the guy who fires a 68 is 100% as capable of doing it the next day, the kid (me) who keeps shooting the mid 70s just over par dont go low too often.

I could compete there, with the team, I wouldnt get too much playing time, but one thing that coaches like about me is that I push my teammates, Im almost always the first on the range warming up and last working on things either on the course, range or putting green. Hopefully one day I'll get a shot to play against some top top players. Looked at the last event CC played in, two names that stood out to me in that feild, Drew Weaver, Sam Saunders and Philip Francis.
