Well I'm off to University in a few months and I thought it was about time I got myself some of the essentials. As I'm taking Computer Science next year I figured a Laptop was the first logical step, being a geek no ordinary Laptop would do.
I present to you the EEE PC 2G Surf

Its a wonderful little piece of technology. It weighs nothing loads in 15seconds and connects instantly to any wireless network nearby and was very cheap, perfect.

Perfect apart from a few things, my idea was to get a laptop that is as portable as possible for my lectures and then have all the peripherals back in my room, so now I need the peripherals and a decent Operating system, Linux just isn't compatible enough with the software or hardware that I'll be using in the next few years.
So this is a plea for help, not free money, any advice on where to get a cheap external hard-drive, dvd drive and Windows XP.
