Attacked at another forum

I lurk in a good 20 forums. Many are computer related, some golf.

I joined this computer forum a couple of days ago and went through their post list. I made some comments on about 15 different posts. I'd made 20 posts on my first trip there.

Then the admin completely went nuts on me for commenting on a topic that was two weeks old and told me not to do it again. I didn't really understand why and he said it was "general forum knowledge" not to post on old topics and that I didn't know anything about forums.

As someone who is trying to build up a couple of forums I appreciate any user posting anywhere...

I requested that they remove me from their stupid ass forum. That is the 2nd time I've been run off by jerks who don't appreciate that they have members... First time was another golf forum that we're all familiar with.

Post a link to this forum. Then we can all sign up and post on the oldest topics we can find.

Lets gets the feckers. Mr Bater is back in town next week, and although he won't be in this forum I can get him onto the computer nerds.

Maybe a question like, "What hard drive should I buy?" would get their juices flowing.

I hate jerks like that. I have been banned twice from Bsg because I corrected the admin and he put up a pic of a couple of proto ft-3's and was bragging about having 2 so I posted a pic that had 8 ft-3, 4 ft-2 and 9 ft-3 fairways.

He said no one should post pics of better stuff than the admin and told me he would block my ip.

The administrator on BSG is a first rate S.O.B. He treats people like dirt, even sponsors on his own board. Bannings for the most minimal "offenses" are commonplace. You can get banned for just mentioning the name of a competitor. Hooray for free speech in America!!

Fortunately I have not had anything but the most minimal experience on BSG. I never liked the thing simply due to it's immense size so I have maybe 4 posts there.

I do believe that www.golfwrx and www.golfshackchat are both offshoots of BSG for the very reason duffmeister mentions.

When you run a forum, any forum, like a Stalinist regime you have to expect an extra dose of bad press, sniping and people pinching your members to create competing forums.

While I'm glad they have a market the whole "tour issue" thing is so far off my radar screen I really can't be bothered.

Do you still need to register to read golfwrx?

Well I have now recieved a written apology from the admin of that forum. Since he did that in good faith I won't be releasing the dogs on him.

But hey, it's nice to know my pals here at Shot Talk have my back.

I have your back too.
