Step-Daughter eloped.
My 25 yr old step-daughter eloped last week to Playa Del Carmen in Mexico & got married. I'm cool with it but my wife is upset because she wasn't told & wanted to witness it. She is the 1st of our combined 4 daughters to get married.

This calls out the classic difference between men and women. You (and every other golf crazed guy on this site) are thinking about the money you just saved while your wife is caught up with all the emotion and touchy-feely side of things. Send her on a shopping spree with some of the money you didn't spend on a wedding and see if she doesn't feel a little bit better.

Funny thing, I was the one who insisted on the wedding. Wife just wanted to be eloped.

My problem, I have financial support from people who expect me to make certain steps. So as a matter of respect and courtesy, I did what I did for them.

I will say though, we both enjoyed it very much. If I had to do it again? Probably same way.
