What a bummer. Carlin was so ahead of his time it was ridiculous. The true face of stand up is gone imo. A sad day for anyone who loves good, intelligent comedy.

Wow, that's to bad. He was always more than just a comedian in what he did for the craft. He really opened it up for others to be able to express their views without worrying about retribution.

Always one of my favorite comedians... I didn't agree with a lot of his views, but he sure made me laugh.

George Carlin definitely helped mold my view of life. I'm glad he lives on through his work, and hope he doesn't just fade away as a historical figure. Like Lyle said, he was WAY ahead of his time, and can give lessons to future generations, if they will only listen.

Definitely had his own brand of intellgent humor. I saw him back around 99 or 00. Great show, although I had actually seen most of the material that night in his earlier stuff. But, still great to see him live.

He is certainly one of my favorites.

Only caught up with George Carlin's stuff about 3 years ago, but have since digested everything he has done, and what a comedian he was, forthright in his views and opinions and rather funny to boot
