Not many movies I make a point of seeing in a theatre. My home theatre is pretty good, and I usually wait for them to come out on DVD.

Not this one. I will pay the $$$ to see it in a theatre. Looks AWESOME! And I hear that Heath Ledger (God rest his hard partyin' soul) is superb as the Joker.

Action and comedy...and super hero flicks dont fall into the action category for me as all i can think about is how compeletely impossible everything in the movie is(which i know is the point, but i just cant get over it)

Action movies?

OK, what about the Die Hard series? Way over the top, especially the latest, "Live Free or Die Hard." The scene with Bruce Willis in the semi and the bad guy in the Euro-Fighter was pretty nuts. Talk about suspension of disbelief!

What action movies don't feature over the top, unbelievable scenes? I'm trying to think of one, and I can't.

Well the new Batman's are all about the realism point of view. Much darker, grimmer.

Read some of the reviews, they are saying this is less a superhero movie and more a crime drama. Want to hear the kicker? They say its a crime drama up with Heat, The Untouchables, etc.

True, pretty much every action movie has its unbelieveable side...but grown men running around in costumes? Skin tight costumes? a little TOO unbelievable for me...

I havent seen the new die hard movie...

Shooter was one of the better ones i have seen lately, and yes there were some unbelievable scenes, they were still within the realm of what i consider 'possible' in the movies...

Law & Order: Bat Division.

Now, if they said it wasn't like Heat or going to be gangbusters, they wouldn't be doing their jobs, now would they?

IMO, the first movie was a 6 at best. It really was not the classic that people claim it is.

The reality is that the last 5 years has provided very little in terms of "can't miss" entertainment. Save, some movies like 40 Year Old Virgin and Anchorman as pure, 2hr of your life laughs, there's little left on the table.

If you believe Marky Mark can make 1-shot kills with a .22 equipped with a sock-filled-coke-bottle silencer while standing in a row boat 1000 yards out, you should have no problem with a guy jumping off a building and hanggliding by his cape.

The cool thing about Batman is that he isn't a Superhero. He can't shoot webs out of his hands, can't morph into a hulking green ogre, can't fly, or turn invisible, or shoot laserbeams out from behind his Ray-Bans.

He's rich, has a bad attitude towards scumbags, and uses cool technology to win. He's a metaphor for Americans (which explains why Rock doesn't like him....)
