Another dead car

Very true about hyundai resale value...with my daughter getting bigger my g/f's tiburon is getting small really quick. We went to a Honda dealership to look at Civic's and figure out trade in value and they wanted to give us 10.5k for a 2006 tiburon with brand new tires, undercoating & rustproofing(which is HUGE to have on a used car up here in wisconsin), and the exteriror and interior in near showroom quality. We also just got the 30,000 mile maintanence done by the dealership...we bought the car a year and a half ago for 17k, which with a 23k stickerprice i thought was pretty good.

So in a year and a half, this car is worth less than HALF of its sticker price...

I told him i wouldn't let that car go for less than 12.5 and the offer they presented me on the civic was rediculous as well...so i walked...i missed his first phone call...if he wants to sell a car bad enough he will call back.

Another option if you are looking to go comparable to the corolla.....I just picked up an 08 Nissan Sentra for 14k. Thing is freakin loaded and gettin about 36 mpg's. We looked at new and used corolla's around here and couldn't even find a two year old one for less than a brand new Nissan.

Good Results here on 2 Dodge neons. Both still in service, one has 150k+ on it. The Kids have them.

Hyundai has a 100,000 mile 10 year warranty. You actually have it paid for and still have warranty left in most cases. Poop on the resale value. You don't buy one if you aren't going to keep it a long time. And besides that they're half the price of a Toyota.

Well she spent the day at the dealership, still there. They've agreed to give her $1600 for the dead Saturn to put towards another car. Unfortunately the Prelude loan is in her name and the only credit they can get to take her is GMAC right now. They're crunching the #'s on a 2006 Pontiac G6 with 12K on it. It's got a 2.4L 4cyl.. I'm not crazy about it but we're not exactly in position A as to negotiating right now. The foriegn cars they have are just too high priced. They had a Civic and an Accord for $13K each but were 03 and 02 cars.

Oh, and no way I'd get rid of the Prelude. Book on it with the mileage is over $10K, I paid $7500 and owe less than 5K on it now.

There aren't many cars the GTR won't blow out of the water. For the money it's a AWESOME car.

I have waited for the Skyline to come to the states forever. It's always been one of my all-time faves.

Some day I'd love to get my hands on a '99 Skyline GT-R V-Spec II, but I wouldn't kick the new GT-R out of my garage....

Actually when 2fast and I went to play in MA on Sat. he had his GPS. He said my top speed was 96.6 mph. I took it up once to nearly "redline" in 3rd and a shift to 4th and let off. So it basically does almost right on 100 with the 3rd hitting Vtec and then holding it to about 7-7200 rpms. The car will go make a beep noise to "remind" you at about 7500 but could go 8500 no problem, I've only heard the beep once and don't want to make that a habit. It's a quick car from 2nd hitting Vtec and then shifting to 3rd where it almost immediately hits it again. Obviously a lot of cars will blow it out of the water. It's only 200hp at like 7K and 2900lbs. The other thing is 4th is really 2 different "gears". It will hit OD right before 5200 (where Vtec kicks in) every time. That's a good thing since at 5K in 4th it's doing about 115, no need to kick it up to 130 unless I want to lose my license or kill myself. I wouldn't trust the brakes, tires, suspension much over 100. I'd upgrade all that before thinking of adding any horsepower mods.

Chevy Aveo.

They sell for less than $11,000, get 35 mpg, and can go up a hill with the AC on. Not too shabby. My mum has one while her Grand Cherokee is getting fixed. I was pretty impressed for a cracker box.


EDIT: I'd be pissed if I dropped 80 large on a car that they limited to 112. The GT-R is sweet, though.
