Well, she drove the G6 home. Not a bad car. Very similar to the Saturn asthetically inside and out. Engine is a little bigger at 2.4L and the car is a little bigger overall. I'm not a big GM fan for many reasons and the fact every car they make is the same is one reason. I think some of the same interior parts would pop off and swap exactly to the old Saturn.

One good point though, it's black. I found a little scratch on the rear bumper, went in my golf bag, out came the sharpie... problem solved!

Most important, how do the golf clubs fit in the trunk? Plenty of room?

I'm going to have to get something smaller with better fuel economy than my F-150. That in and of it's self won't be hard, but I want something with a little room that looks decent. I'm actually looking at a couple of used Chysler Sebring convertibles.

I hope the Pontiac works out for you two Ezra !

The clubs stay with the Prelude... that's my car. Cars are like irons for me... only.

True enough it's not the most masculine of cars. But I want a convertible and these are the most reasonable ones out there used. My wife drives a Concorde with the same engine and gets 27mpg. I figure the Sebring is a little smaller so should get a tad bit better?

I hear you, it is all about how you drive it. Like I said, my wife gets 27 with her car. When I drive it I get 25mpg. And anything is going to get better than my F-150, 17mpg, ouch.

My Dads 83 and not getting around too good anymore so I'm about to have to move down and help take care of him. I'm about to go from a 3 mile drive to work to a 43 mile drive. With gas prices what they are now I can't see making a 86 mile round trip commute to work in a 17mpg vehicle.

Plus I've found a Sebring convertible with 74k for $5,000.00.

Yeah, my daily commute to work is 44.3 miles one way...theres no way i could handle getting 17mpg...yikes. I like my 52mpg and $11 fillups on the bike.

Naw, we just dropped a new tranny in the wife's Concorde, but it has 141k on it. I made the mistake of getting her a white car. She thinks it's a Great White Shark and has to stay in perpetual motion,

171,000 on my 93 Miata and still running strong. If the engine ever dies I'll replace it for $400 if the transmission dies I'll replace it for $150 (do the labor myself). I instructed a teen street survival class a while back in a girl's 1986 BMW 325E with 340,000 miles and it still ran great. They don't build them like they used to.

My Lotus only has 9,000 miles on it in 2 years. I need to drive it more.

The Ford V6 in my 1998 Mazda pickup is still going strong after 165K. No problems other than the usual replaceables - O2 sensors, plugs, belts, etc. Doesn't burn a pint every 5K miles. No leaks.

Transmission and rear diff went out at 85K, but I'm not convinced it wasn't due to an unfixed alignment issue after a wreck I had. Edmunds does say that the 98's and earlier had tranny problems, but have gotten a lot better since.

Still and all, I'm probably going to buy an Xterra next...

My F-150 has 204k on it now and runs like a top. The 4.6 V-8 barely uses any oil between oil changes and the tranny shifts perfectly. ( knock on wood). I'll be keeping it to pull my boat with, just need something that won't kill me on gas once I move down to my Dad's to help him out.

I wanted a new Nissan Titan, I can get a great deal on one through my job, but those things don't get but 15 mpg. I just can't justify buying something that gets that crappy of mileage with gas prices what they are now.
