This is my main qualm with global warming, for every scientist that says it our fault, you can find another that says its just a cycle.

That being said, as long as fuel oil is close to $5/gallon I am all for global warming

Personally, I think what is being called Global Warming is just a normal historical warming cycle. It has happened since the beginning of time, the Earth goes through warming and cooling trends. IMHO this is just the tree huggers opportunity to try and make us all go back to the horse and buggy days.

I think the sun is getting bigger and pulling us closer. Mercury used to be like the earth about a trillion years ago and Venus was next. All the water evaporated into gas on Venus though. Mercury is just what is left of the core of the planet, too hot for even gas. I'm claiming the rights to this movie.

Here's my honest opinion on the whole mess, from a point even bigger than just "Global Warming"

A certain political party thrives on fear; look back to the great depression. With enough fear and chaos, you get the reinvention of political "empires," like that of FDR. This is the core of the Global Warming nonsense, IMO. The science is bogus, and even a blind guy could see that. The fear, however, is very real for the uninformed.

Another good thing to ask yourself; why is the government restricting oil drilling on our own land, or in international waters? Big government thrives when people have to rely on it to survive; aka poverty due to oil prices. If you see someone promoting the nanny society, or big government, these are people standing in the way of self sufficience. They need to be needed to survive.

Government is very necessary in society, but not a nanny state.

Nice to see some scientists actually adhering to science for a change, though. Good post, Clug.

You'll have to talk to C.S. Lewis (Chronicles of Narnia, The Screwtape Letters) about the rights to the script. He wrote a series from 1938 - 1943 called "The Space Trilogy" that talked about basically the same thing.
