I don't think that you need to classify it by type, for almost any type of fish, that is HUGE!

Dammit. I was rooting for the fish. My team always loses. I wanted to see German ponytail man go flying over the side.

Catch and release. You have to help the fish get water running through its gills again. With a smaller fish, you can do it with just your hands. Obviously that wasn't an option here.

What bugged me is that we didn't see the fish swim away. I was worried about that as they were dragging it into the boat. Hopefully it survived. It would be a shame to kill that fish.

Hell of a fish! I'm glad they tried to revive it. Too many "sportsman" wouldn't even attempt it. Catfish are pretty robust critters - I suspect that bad boy lived to fight another day.

You keep that and you and everyone you know will be eating fish for a couple of decades. Maybe now we know how Jesus fed 5000 people with only 2 fish!!!!

On a slightly related note: Fried catfish, cornbread, hush puppies, and red beans and rice.

To do anything but catch and release that guy would be a shame. Hope he made it.

Only time I don't release is when I'm camping, where I grill it up right there. NEver anything too big, or too small.
