UFO/Aliens

Let me preface this by saying, I'd like to try and keep this as an on-topic and somewhat intelligent conversation. A little straying and jacking here and there is fine, but I am really curious what legitimate things people have to say.

Now, with that done, I believe that there are aliens, simply out of probability. Everyone's heard that though, "big universe" and all that, well that's where I am.

Do I believe in UFO's though? In other words, can they travel, and do they travel here? That's what I'm not sure about. On the one hand, I do. Why? Well, since cave paintings, to more modern(last 1,000 years) paintings, to now-a-days media, you see depictions of UFOs. While some, and probably most are bs, I somehow doubt that all are.

My main beef right now is the government. Their constant denying that UFOs exist, makes me think that they exist. Of course, being a federal paranoid I might think that they government does that on purpose to give us something to believe in, distract us, you know, all that bit. Anyway, we'll ignore the latter here. If the government is legitimately trying to shut down every UFO sighting, picture, all of that, why? I mean, what does it serve them to do so if they really aren't real?

Anyway, for now, my .02

I was a skeptic, until June last year. I was in northern Saskatchewan and me and my buddy were driving around at night We went out to the campground and reached a dead end and turned around to go back the other way. While we were turning around I saw something green and glowing on the lake. So we turn around and face directly at the lake. There's this green dome shaped thing, with white glowing lights at the bottom. There was an island about 500 feet out, and the lake is too shallow for any houseboats or anything to park. So I just stare, my mind goes blank and I just mutter, let's get the hell out of here. I couldn't comprehend anything. I get chills everytime I tell the story and think about it.

So do I believe in them? Yes. Do I think the government covers it up? Definitely. Do I have any idea why they do? Not at all.

I dont believe in them really, maybe if I saw or heard or witnessed something I could buy into it, but personally I just dont see a real reason to believe it, then again, I even have trouble believing that the original moon landing is legit.

At this point in time, I do not believe in them, if there was cold hard proof or a real encounter, not some hick on a farm saying he buzzed around his crops, then I could possibly buy into it.

Check out UFO Files from time to time. Short of a personal experience its the best thing to a closest experience. Trying to debunk UFO tales, but showing where they can't, though its somewhat rare.

The universe is too big to not have other intelligent life. Trouble is it's big and the chances of another advanced life form finding our little corner of the universe is, well, remote.

As for a government coverup I have serious doubts that what many consider a bumbling, incompetent mass of overpaid and underworked could at the same time actually unite and conspire to keep the lid on visiting extraterrestrial life. Money, booze and escorts can help get to the bottom of a lot of things and it doesn't appear to be working on this subject.

I remember in the late 80's when there were numerous reported sightings of diamond shape objects flying in the night in the Nevada desert. Turns out they were right. They were seeing the Stealth Fighter when it was still under wraps. That's as close as it gets nowadays.

Now excuse me while I adjust my tinfoil hat. If large men in dark suits and sunglasses suddenly show up at your door don't redirect them towards me. I don't know anything....

There's the thing. Ever heard of the illuminati? True power of government and control, tight, strong, beneath a veneer of democracy and whatnot, and totally anon. to all but the most paranoid.

Anyway, I'm getting off-topic. All I'm saying is, why hide it? I mean, the government has confiscated video and pictures of UFOs. Why? Secret military technology? Maybe, but then, why would they be flying it where people could see it, as some of the pictures have come from within city limits.

Ohhhh, ok, I'll give you that. I can believe there is intelligent life out there somewhere, I just don't believe Earth is visited by them.

Why is our government/military always so quick to proclaim any claims of UFO's as "weather ballons" or test airplanes? Not once have they ever come out & said something like "it's possible, you never know". Now days we have former Nasa Astronauts saying we have been visited & the government it covering it up.

I personally believe that we have been visited & our government knows about it. If they are such staunch believers in there being no aliens, why do they spend billions of dollars setting up & operating equipment such as the satellite receivers which do nothing excpet listen for sounds from outer space? Out side of Denver there is an Air Force base & they had what looked like giant golf balls on base. I asked my brother what they were & he wouldn't/couldn't tell me since it was classified. I believe they finally decommissioned that base & he finally told me a few years ago that they were basically giant radio telescopes that did nothing except search the heavens for alien signals.

Area 51....way too much secrecy surrounding this place to even get started right now.

Why would our government cover it up? Religion would be kinda screwed since the whole "God created man in his own image" & the Adam & Eve story would be rendered as fables. Could you imagine the mass commotion that would ensue if the government let out that "yes we have been visited"?

Some people use the bible to prove there have been visits. They point to passages that say the prophet Elijah was carried to heaven in a fiery chariot as proof.

Wether we hav been visited or not...well, i guess i am with you jeff, why would they cover it up so much?

Go down to Roswell and search around. When you come back talking about being probed and prodded, that is the US Government and not and Alien life form.

Hell, i get probed and prodded every other week by the government....
