Thread: SNOW.. SNOW... SNOW... SNOW..

  1. SNOW.. SNOW... SNOW... SNOW..

SNOW.... SNOW... Every day 1"-6" and more snow blowing and shoveling. And the worst part is it's around 0º F and my hands are COLD. I've got deer hunting clothes to keep me warm but the hands.... they literally are hurting they're so cold. Moving my fingers is a real chore. Running out of places to put this stuff and it's only early January.

You get everything plowed out and then the city plow comes by and dumps in four feet of heavy, compacted snow.... blocking the end of your driveway.

Sorry for the rant but I hate Wisconsin's winters. And don't tell me I can move south. I've got a job here. :(

  3. Thank God for global warming. Imagine how cold it would be without it...

And I'm betting LyleG, R35 and all the other Canucks are hibernating down in their below ground, special, winter living quarters they never tell us about... drinking booze and making more babies...

It was -49 degrees Celsius here this morning with the wind chill. Not sure what that is in Fahrenheit. But still really cold.

  6. -40ºF or colder windchill tomorrow. My exams might get pushed back until Monday if it's at least -35 in the morning. I'm not complaining.

Here in the Madison area we caught a bit of break & didn't get all that snow you guys had the other day. But the extreme cold is getting old. Plus the front struts on my SUV decided to take a crap, they are literally freezing up & the thing rides like a rigid. I jack it up & neither of the front tires drops at all. break out the propane heater & warm them up, & the tires & suspension drops right down. Freezes up withing 1/2 hr though so it's pointless.

Just ordered new struts from Autozone, going to take it to work on saturday & replace them inside where it's a nice toasty 70º.

Wish my work would relocate down south somewhere, but I don't see that ever happening.

BTW WBL, easy way out of shoveling snow, go get your heart worked on. You will not be able to shovel anything for the rest of the winter. Told my wife it was her responsibility for the remainder of the season after the 26th.

I hear ya. Yesterday one of the ignition coils on my truck went bad. Thats not a fun job to do when its this cold, especially when you dont have a heated garage to work in.

I saw a picture of a guy snow blowing his drive, and his neighbor behind him in the picture doing the same thing. You couldn't even see below their waist line it was so high, and didn't know they had snow blowers if it wasn't for the rooster tail.

Kinda felt bad, I'd be lost as shit if I had that much snow to deal with.

On the positive side, the weather guy said the cold front hitting the south tonight was in Alaska last week freezing everything up really bad.. I thought I got a whiff of Sarah Palin, and it warmed the deepest parts of my heart.

You get used to it. Id much rathar deal with the winters we have than to deal with the hot, humid summers that people have down south.
